Emma Willis says heart issues ‘pretty scary'
TV presenter Emma Willis said her 'heart has got to learn how to refunction', after undergoing keyhole surgery. Willis had the procedure after discovering she had a hole in her heart earlier this year. Advertisement Appearing on Heart Breakfast on Thursday, she told hosts Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden the situation had been 'pretty scary'. She said: 'I found out in January and by March I was in on the table and having a little device fitted into my heart to fill a hole that I never knew existed. The former Big Brother presenter said she had always experienced heart palpitations, but thought they were simply down to stress. Advertisement 'For the past couple of years, I've been having them more and more, and they got to a point where it was quite a lot,' she said. Since the surgery, which saw the hole plugged, she said the palpitations have reduced in frequency. Emma Willis is married to Busted star Matt (Ian West/PA) But she added: 'I might have them forever. My heart has got to kind of learn how to refunction hole-free.' Lorraine Kelly set to miss BAFTA TV awards after worrying hospital stint as she takes time off breakfast show
LORRAINE Kelly will be forced to miss this weekend's BAFTA Television Awards after undergoing surgery, The Sun can exclusively reveal. The ITV host, 65, will be bowing out of the star-studded event in London on Sunday so she can "properly recover" from her health scare. 4 4 Lorraine, who has had "preventative" surgery to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes, received a BAFTA Special Award at last year's ceremony. But this year, Lorraine will be giving it a miss. A source told The Sun: "Lorraine is world's away from where she was this time last year when she was being honoured with a special BAFTA award. "She's been through a lot with her recent health scare and is quite rightly taking some time out to properly recover. "Lorraine is already missed by the ITV team and will be desperate to get back to the day job." Insiders say Lorraine hasn't yet set a date to return to her ITV breakfast show, as it's "too early" in her recovery journey. The Sun has approached ITV for comment. Lorraine said surgeons would be removing her ovaries and fallopian tubes via keyhole surgery as she had "not been feeling well". The star insisted it was a "preventative" measure. Lorraine explained: "Just wanted to let you know I'm having a wee procedure today. I've not been feeling all that well for a little while, so I had some scans and tests, and I have to have my ovaries and my tubes taken out. She added: "It's purely preventative. It's going to be with keyhole surgery, which is incredible, I'm being very well looked after, and I'll obviously see you really soon, and I'm gonna be totally fine." The following day, Lorraine posted a photograph of herself in a wheelchair with her medical team. She confirmed she had since returned home to recover. Thanking the staff at Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot, Berks, she said: "Huge thanks to these kind, caring, gorgeous professionals who took care of me at @heatherwoodhospital - back home now and following doctors orders to rest up. "My surgeon Mr Ahmed Rafaat has been so reassuring throughout - and I can't thank the whole team enough! #care #kindness #professionalism #thanks #hospital #lucky." Many of Lorraine's ITV co-stars and showbiz friends were quick to send their get well wishes. Emma Willis added: "Lots of love Lorraine ❤️."
