Wall Street Draws Bigger Crowd for Riskier Corporate Loans
Wall Street banks are back to selling second-lien loans, a riskier kind of corporate debt, thanks to demand from a wider swathe of lenders including their private credit rivals and conventional investors. Second-liens have in recent years been largely provided by private credit firms. But banks are once again selling these transactions to investors including collateralized loan obligations — the biggest buyers of leveraged loans — to slash borrowing costs for issuers.

New CLO Managers Are Pouring Into the Market
A spate of hedge funds and asset managers are diving into the $1.3 trillion CLO market with debut vehicles, fueling demand for new leveraged loans and pushing up prices for older ones. Macquarie Asset Management sold its first US collateralized loan obligation earlier this month, while hedge fund Arini, run by former Credit Suisse Group AG star trader Hamza Lemssouguer, priced its debut US CLO in April. Anthelion Capital, an AI-based asset management platform, is also looking to come to market in the next few weeks, and has tapped Natixis SA to help arrange the deal, people with knowledge of the matter said.
