PBSO: Ex-Palm Beach County school district employee facing charges of lewd conduct with minors
A former Palm Beach County School District employee is facing criminal charges after authorities alleged that he allowed two minors to touch him in an inappropriate manner.
Norman Riemer, 54, is facing is five counts of lewd and lascivious molestation involving a child under 12 following his arrest April 30 by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
During a hearing on May 1 at the Palm Beach County Jail, Circuit Judge Donald Hafele ordered that Riemer be held without bail and that he have no contact with school district property or employees, or anyone under the age of 18.
A message left for Riemer's attorney was not immediately returned.
A spokesperson for the school district said Riemer is no longer an employee. He worked in the district's main office as an instructional specialist. The spokesperson referred additional questions to the sheriff's office.

Riemer's arrest report indicated the alleged conduct occurred in a residence but not specify the location. It also did not specify the relationship between Riemer and the children. Jail records show he has a residence near Greenacres.
A woman told investigators that she became aware of the situation in late March during spring break for Palm Beach County's public schools. She reported that two children, both younger than 10, told her separately that Riemer allowed them to touch his "private area."

In an interview with a sheriff's investigator, one child confirmed the incident, in addition to disclosing being touched by Riemer in an inappropriate manner, according a sheriff's arrest report.
Shortly after the incidents were brought to light, Riemer reportedly was having dinner at another person's home when someone confronted him with the allegations. He confessed to the inappropriate conduct, claiming it happened three times, and described it as a "science experiment" to satisfy the children's curiosity, the arrest report said.
A woman told Riemer she had a duty to report the conduct and a formal investigation began when the Florida Department of Children and Families hotline was contacted the next day.
