Pedestrian hit by car in Skokie, Illinois

A pedestrian was hit by a car in north suburban Skokie, Illinois, on Tuesday morning, police said. Just before 4:20 a.m., The Skokie Police Department said a vehicle driving westbound collided with the pedestrian at the intersection of Howard Street and Karlov Avenue. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with injuries. The victim's condition was stabilized at the hospital, but the extent of their injuries has not been released. Police said the driver remained at the scene when officers arrived. The cause of the crash was not immediately known. This is a developing story. CBS News Chicago will continue to provide updates.

Temple Police Investigate Aggravated Assault That Injured Three

Temple, TX (FOX 44) – Around 3:47 Saturday morning, Temple Police responded to the 800 block of E French Street after hearing gun shots. Upon arrivals officers reported seeing people exiting the area on foot and in their vehicles. According to witnesses, there was a physical altercation which led to an individual firing a weapon. Although police did not locate any victims at the scene, contact was later made with two victims at a local hospital. The victims were described to have non-life-threatening injuries related to a physical altercation. Around 5:40A.M. a gunshot victim arrived at a nearby urgent care facility. Their injury is non-life-threatening and consists of an injury to an elbow. This case is under investigation. SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KETK) – A passenger was reportedly ejected from a vehicle following a crash in Smith County this afternoon. 2 rescued from high waters in Smith County after being trapped for nearly 2 hours According to the Community Outreach Coordinator for Smith County ESD2, Nikki Simmons, the crash occurred at FM 2908 at around 12:40 p.m. Simmons did confirm the crash was a rollover, causing one person to be ejected from the vehicle. (SSPS) Police in Innisfil are investigating a serious collision that occurred early Tuesday morning at the intersection of Yonge Street and Victoria Street in Stroud. The incident involved three vehicles, one of which struck a building, while another hit a light post. Officials say three people sustained injuries and were taken to a local hospital where they are reported to be in stable condition. Due to the extent of the damage and the ongoing police investigation, the area remains closed. Motorists are advised to avoid the intersection and take alternate routes. South Simcoe Police say the closure is expected to remain in place for an extended period to allow for a thorough investigation and the necessary repairs to the damaged light post.
