Woman dies in Cremorne house fire after being pulled from burning unit
A woman has died after she was pulled from a burning townhouse.
Emergency services rushed to the burning townhouse on Allister Street in Cremorne, on Sydney 's lower north shore, about 7.10am on Wednesday.
Fire and Rescue NSW crew arrived at the scene and found the top level of the townhouse engulfed in flames.
Firefighters pulled a woman, believed to be aged in her 60s, out of the home before paramedics treated her for critical injuries.
A toll helicopter was dispatched and was seen landing at nearby Reid Park to transport the woman to hospital.
However she died at the scene.
Fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze a short time later.
Police have established a crime scene and detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the house fire.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
The woman is yet to be formally identified.
