Brazil's JBS reports profit of $521 million in first quarter
SAO PAULO, May 13 (Reuters) - JBS ( opens new tab, the world's largest meatpacker, on Tuesday reported a net profit of 2.92 billion reais ($521 million) in the first quarter, in line with analysts' estimates of a 2.92 billion real net profit and a nearly 78% annual increase. In a financial statement, the company said earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization, a measure of operating income known as EBITDA, came in at 8.92 billion reais, above the 8.77 billion reais forecast by analysts.

Sabesp: Q1 Earnings Snapshot

On a per-share basis, the Sao Paulo-based company said it had net income of 37 cents. The waste management company posted revenue of $1.04 billion in the period.

Telefonica Brasil: Q1 Earnings Snapshot

On a per-share basis, the Sao paulo-Sp, Brazil-based company said it had profit of 11 cents. The telecommunications company posted revenue of $2.45 billion in the period. _____

Brazil's Petrobras posts 49% increase in Q1 net profit
RIO DE JANEIRO, May 12 (Reuters) - Brazilian state-run oil firm Petrobras ( opens new tab posted on Monday a net profit of 35.2 billion reais ($6.21 billion) for the first quarter, up 48.6% from a year earlier. Petrobras' adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) stood at 61 billion reais, a 1.7% increase over the same period of 2024. Without non-recurring effects, adjusted EBITDA stood at 62.3 billion reais, Petrobras said. Analysts polled by LSEG had expected a 62.9 billion real EBITDA. Net revenue for the firm rose 4.6% to 123.1 billion reais, slightly below the 124.9 billion reais expected by analysts. Capex for the first quarter of this year came in at $4.1 billion.
