Wall demolished as van smashes into Broomhall house
A man has been arrested after a van smashed through a brick wall and crashed into a white Ford Transit crashed into the front of the detached house on Cock Lane in Broomhall near Nantwich, Cheshire, at about 23:45 BST on van flipped on to its side and the driver had got out before emergency services arrived, a spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were no serious injuries, Cheshire Police added, but the driver of the van, a 36-year-old man from Nantwich, was taken to hospital as a precaution. He was later arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and remained in custody, a force spokesperson said. Man held after car mounts pavement and hits woman Police cordoned off the street after a car came to a rest on the pavement A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman suffered "life-changing injuries" when a car mounted the pavement and struck her. Humberside Police said the incident happened on Chanterlands Avenue in Hull shortly before 07:30 BST. A spokesperson said officers had received reports that the woman had been hit by a silver Volkswagen Polo. A 50-year-old man was arrested at the scene and remained in custody, the spokesperson added.
