2 men arrested in Hong Kong over violent confrontation involving minibus driver

Hong Kong police have arrested two men after a video circulating online showed several people surrounding a red-topped minibus, with one of the group striking the vehicle with a hard object after the driver repeatedly slammed into their car during the confrontation. Advertisement The force said on Sunday that the incident in Yuen Long from the morning before was being investigated by anti-triad officers, with the case being classified as criminal damage and reckless driving. The two men, aged 30 and 37, were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and were currently being detained as part of the investigation, it added. The incident was reported to police at around 10.50am on Saturday after a private car had cut off the red minibus while the latter was travelling along Tai Tong Road, near Shui Chiu San Tsuen. Police said several men then got out of the car and began arguing with the minibus driver, before he drove into the car twice. Advertisement The video posted online shows at least five men surrounding the minibus, with one of the group holding what appears to be an iron bar.
