Officers respond after vehicle reportedly hits Miami County motel
Several officers responded after a vehicle reportedly hit a motel in Miami County early Wednesday morning. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Troy Police and medics were dispatched just before 3 a.m. to the 1300 block of Archer Drive in reports that a vehicle had hit a motel, according to a Miami County dispatcher supervisor. GRPD: Man dies after shooting along 28th Street
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids Police surrounded a local motel after a man died after a shooting along 28th Street in Grand Rapids Saturday, police say. It happened around 8:30 p.m. on 28th near Jefferson Avenue, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department. Officers that were called there tried to save the man, but he died. Police did not release any information about the man's identity, nor did they immediately say what led up to the shooting. 28th was shut down between Jefferson and Division Avenue while investigators were on the scene. GRPD Police Chief Eric Winstrom said that officers received tips that the suspect may be at a local motel near where the shooting happened. 'It sounds like we have from multiple sources information that likely the shooter fled into the motel,' Winstrom said. 'We've got detectives that just arrived on scene. They're doing the thorough investigation, making sure that we follow every lead possible.' Woman in 30s seriously injured after stabbing in Scarborough
Woman in her 30s seriously injured after being stabbed inside a Scarborough motel on Friday May 23, 2025 (Jacob Estrin/CP24 photo). A woman in her 30s is seriously injured after she was reportedly stabbed inside a Scarborough motel late Friday night. Officials say the incident happened near Kingston Road and Fenwood Heights shortly before 11 p.m. When officers arrived, they say the woman was transported to hospital by ambulance. Paramedics say her condition is believed to be 'serious' but 'non-life-threatening.' Police have not provided any suspect description but they do say the investigation is ongoing.
