General Motors is recalling tens of thousands of Cadillac vehicles due to a video display issue that could increase the risk of crash, according to a notice posted this week by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Detroit-based automaker reported to the NHTSA late last month that the video display on some Lyriq models may fail, resulting in a blank screen and a subsequent loss of view of the speedometer, warning lights and rearview camera, thus increasing the risk of a crash. As of May 29, when GM reported the recall to the NHTSA, the automaker had not reported any deaths or injuries in connection to the issue. Here's what to know about the recall, including which years are affected and how to remedy the issue. Which years and models are affected? The recall affects 41,376 vehicles in the following models: 2023 Cadillac Lyriq 2024 Cadillac Lyriq What should I do if my Cadillac is recalled? The video display control module software can be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge, the NHTSA recall notice said. Notification letters are expected to be mailed to owners by July 14. Cadillac Lyric recall number: Owners can contact Cadillac at 1-800-333-4223. The number for this recall is N252500680. Fox - Fox 29 City firefighters in Eastern Pennsylvania were battling a massive blaze at a major bus depot in Philadelphia on Thursday morning, June 5. The fire broke out sometime around 6 a.m. ET at Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority's (SEPTA) facility in the 2400 block of Roberts Avenue near Pulaski Avenue, the Philadelphia Fire Department reported. The facility is in the city's Nicetown-Tioga neighborhood about seven miles north of downtown. As of about 6:30 a.m. ET, the fire was listed as a two-alarm blaze, fire officials posted on X. What caused the Philadelphia bus fire? It was not immediately known what caused the fire or whether any injuries were reported. But as of just before 8:10 a.m. ET, firefighter reported the blaze was under control. USA TODAY has reached out to fire officials, the Philadelphia Police Department and SEPTA. What is SEPTA? SEPTA is a public transportation authority servicing five counties in and around Philadelphia. It was created by the state's legislature in 1963 and is one of two transit authorities in the United States that operates all five major types of terrestrial transit vehicles: regional rail, buses, trolleys, subways and a high-speed line. USA TODAY Trader Joe's is recalling lots of some of the water it sells across the country due to safety concerns, the grocery chain announced this week. The environmentally-friendly store, which specializes in gourmet foods, initiated a voluntary recall Tuesday after it learned from its supplier that several lots of Gerolsteiner Sparkling Natural Mineral Water may potentially crack or break. "The issue was identified by research related to bottle breakage during production and potentially affects 1% of bottles," the company wrote in an online news release. The recall impacts about 61,500 bottles of Gerolsteiner Sparkling Natural Mineral Water sold from December 2024 to January 2025 at Trader Joe's stores in 12 states, according to the CPSC. They are being recalled because the bottles "can crack, causing a laceration hazard." So far no injuries have been reported. Bottles from the affected lots can be returned to the stores where they were purchased for a full refund. Consumers will not be asked for proof of purchase, but will need to return the recalled bottle to receive a refund, the CPSC said. The parent company of the brand, Danone, based in Louisville, Colo. initiated the voluntary recall after the company received "complaints of spoilage and illness with the use of the products," according to details published online by the FDA. A $45 million settlement involving MGM Resorts International came after two data exposures that took place in July 2019 and September 2023, culminating in customers and guests private information being accessed, according to the settlement posted online. According to the settlement's website, "varying amounts of private information" of customers and guests were accessed in the breach, including "names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth and, for a smaller number of individuals, drivers' license numbers, passport numbers, Social Security numbers, and military identification numbers."
