Nationwide customers have just hours to claim free £175 - how to get it before deadline
If you're planning to switch to Nationwide to claim the £175 cash reward, you'll need to act fast as time is running out. The UK's largest building society has announced that the current account offer will be discontinued on March 31, so if you want to get your hands on the free money, you'll need to move quickly. The incentive was first introduced on September 25, 2024, with the aim of encouraging customers to switch their current accounts from other banks to Nationwide. Nationwide had always stated that the reward would not be a permanent feature, and reiterated in December that it was only available for a 'limited time'. To qualify for Nationwide's £175 cash reward, you must switch from a non-Nationwide bank account with at least two active direct debits. Your non-Nationwide account will be closed when you switch – Nationwide can handle this for you if you choose that option when requesting the switch. According to the terms, you'll need to deposit £1,000 into the account within 31 days of requesting the switch – transfers from other Nationwide accounts or Visa credits are not included – and make at least one purchase using your debit card. Certain transactions, such as gambling, are not included in this offer, so it's important to do your research. To qualify for the £175 cash offer, the switch must be completed within 28 days. Nationwide stated: 'You can get £175 by switching to a FlexPlus, FlexDirect or FlexAccount. If you already have one of these bank accounts, you can still switch over your non-Nationwide bank account and get £175 if you log in to our internet bank. However, be aware that switching to a FlexPlus Nationwide account will incur an £18 monthly fee, while FlexDirect and FlexAccount are both free.

Nationwide customers can get free £175 if they act before end of March
Nationwide Building Society is offering its customers the chance to earn a free cast payment of £175 if they switch to one of its three bank accounts. The offer will be withdrawn at the end of March, with customers encouraged to make the switch "within 10 days". The building society's switching offer remains the biggest available, alongside Lloyds Bank and First Direct, who also offer £175. Read more: Three benefits which could be cut under huge DWP shake-up To qualify for the £175, customers will need to apply for and open one of three bank accounts: FlexPlus, FlexDirect or FlexAccount. If customers already have one of these accounts, they can simply switch to a non-Nationwide bank account and get the free £175 if they log into Nationwide's internet bank and meet all of the other qualifying criteria. Nationwide has stated you must complete a full account switch from a current account held with another bank using the Current Account Switch Service. Additionally, you must transfer a minimum of two active Direct Debits to Nationwide, along with making a deposit of £1000 and make one debit card payment within 31 days. A full switch means that the old account is closed and all payments are transferred to the new account. Not all transactions are valid though, such as gambling, cryptocurrency, cash withdrawals, mortgage payments, and money transfers. Therefore, it is vital that you read the terms and conditions fully before making the switch, as you don't want to miss out on the potential of £175. If customers meet all of the necessary criteria, Nationwide will then credit the free £175 payment to the current account that customers switched into "within 10 days of all the requirements being met". This will then appear on bank statements as 'Switching Offer'. The £175 switching perk will be withdrawn at 23:59pm on Monday, March 31st. The three current accounts customers can switch to are as follows: FlexPlus: A packaged account with worldwide family travel insurance, mobile phone insurance, UK and European breakdown cover and commission-free usage abroad for £18 a month FlexDirect: A fee-free online account paying 5% AER credit interest and 1% cashback on debit card spend for the first 12 months FlexAccount: A fee-free bank account where customers can bank online and in branch

Nationwide to give free cash to people who follow these steps
Nationwide has announced that it will offer certain banking customers a free £175 payment, with no current deadline for people to act. The world's largest building society continues to provide this bonus cash to eligible individuals who switch their accounts to Nationwide. While other banking giants often run similar offers, they usually have an end date by which to switch. However, this is not currently the case for the Nationwide £175 deal. To qualify for the money, you'll need to switch a non-Nationwide bank account with at least two active Direct Debits, perform the switch online, and close your old account when you switch. Nationwide can handle the last part for you. You must also make at least one purchase using your debit card and some transactions, such as gambling, don't count. Switchers can claim the £175 when switching to either a FlexPlus, FlexDirect or FlexAccount. Current customers who already have one of these accounts can still get the cash, if they switch over from a non-Nationwide provider, and meet the other criteria. Switching your bank account is designed to be a hassle-free process. All your payees, which includes everyone you've ever sent payments to, will be transferred to your new account along with any new payment setups. Your regular income streams, such as salary, benefits, or pension, will also automatically shift to the new account, as well as your recurring outgoings like bills. Plus, there's a safety net in place: should any payments mistakenly go to your old account, a redirect system will "catch" these and ensure they're moved over to your new account.
