Sometimes the greatest journeys are intimately human, wrapped in insanity and sorrow. Age of Excuse is one such side quest, hidden along the periphery of King's Road, where paranoia and superstition merge in the delicate mind of a cursed knight. If you're looking to snag Soulstone, and some extra XP too (900 to be exact), this brief yet multi-faceted side quest is definitely worth the diversion. A Knight Under a Bridge The adventure starts in a location that wouldn't be out of place in a Shakespearean comedy—beneath a bridge, where you'll discover Berach, a knight convinced he's cursed. His circumstances seem desperate. His horse shot, his equipment abandoned or stolen, and he has just escaped death at the hands of a crashing boulder. Convinced he's being pursued by bad luck or maybe something worse, Berach is in a race against time. Get these events on your radar, and help us amplify them by sharing frequently on your channels! Part therapist, part errand-runner, part apothecary. Age of Excuse – Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon So, if you find yourself in conversation with Berach, watch your moves. It's easy enough to make the potion if you have at least a little alchemical expertise, and its real magic is in the con—it's a placebo potent enough to fool Berach into thinking the curse is gone. Two Paths: Belief or Brutality When you return to Berach with the potion, you encounter a moral dilemma. You can try and help him find the truth, assuring him that he's not cursed. Attempt it, and his paranoia reaches a breaking point. He turns on you in a furious fit. If you kill him, the quest fails. Or just provide the potion to him and enact the ritual fake-out. He's convinced it worked. Fear is replaced by relief, and the quest ends on a high note with some sweet bonuses: 900 XP and a rare Soulstone! It is a gentle jab at the power of faith which walks the line between reality and madness. Triggered along with the rest of Avalon by the aftershocks of environmental disaster and trauma, Berach's fragile mental state is both a symptom of and a response to the greater decay of Avalon — a world where magic, madness, and myth intermingle with abandon. When you complete the quest, you're not just rewarded with some loot—you're participating in the telling of a story. One in which intimacy eclipses indignation, and where confrontation is about healing rather than hurting. In the dark, mysterious realm of Tainted Grail, that's an exceptional delight to be celebrated. Bodies found in Portland area rivers ‘pretty normal occurrence'
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Nine bodies have been recovered in Portland metro rivers so far in 2025, including a kayaker who disappeared over the Willamette Falls in April. , who jumped out of his kayak and tried to swim to shore before disappearing over Willamette Falls late on April 12, was found Sunday along the shore in a Gladstone park. He was 20. As the temperatures keep rising, officials said, there will likely be more bodies recovered in area waters. North Portland ralliers: 'We are not a Sacrifice Zone' were recovered by the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office and one by Clackamas County deputies in the past two months. Those bodies were found: April 13: Willamette River near Swan Island April 15: Multnomah Channel April 18: Willamette River April 24: Columbia River April 30: Willamette River May 3: Willamette River May 3: Columbia River near moorage off NE Marine Drive May 4: Willamette River Portland Fire & Rescue assisted on search missions for these bodies and said there's a reason so many bodies are resurfacing at this time. 'With the temperature change, you get water density changes and buoyancy factors change within the bodies that are in the river at the river bottom,' said PFR Lt. Rick Graves. 'And as the density changes, as the buoyancy factor changes, they just simply float to the surface It's a pretty normal occurrence for us.' Graves said bodies will be on the surface of the river for a period of time 'and then they'll just basically sink directly down. In fact, if you have a spot (where someone was) last seen, you could go downstream about 10-12 feet and go straight down. Oftentimes that's right where they'll be.' And as temperatures rise, more people get out onto the river to fish or boat, the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office said. That brings more eyes on the water to spot a body. Auto prowling incident now tied to Vancouver weekend shooting Graves also said the big boats that come in for Fleet Week 'stirs up the entire bottom. That sometimes will allow a few more bodies to rise to the surface.' Authorities also told KOIN 6 News this number of bodies found this year is common. In 2017, the sheriff's office said they recover an average of 30-50 bodies from area rivers each year. KOIN 6 News asked if that number has increased over time and have not yet had a response. She added: "He's just a really great guy. I feel very lucky to have met him." The whole song is really tongue in cheek - I didn't manifest him at all but I think you meet people at the right time for you in your life." This revelation follows Louise's previous admission that her divorce provided her with the liberty to return to her first love- music.
