Al-Azhar Grand Imam Offers Condolences to Palestinian Doctor Alaa Al-Najjar on ‎Martyrdom of Her Nine Children in Heinous Israeli Airstrike

Mohamed Mandour Dr. Ahmed At-Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, extends ‎his heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the steadfast Palestinian mother ‎and physician, Dr. Alaa Al-Najjar, following the martyrdom of her nine children and the ‎injury of her husband and only surviving child, in a treacherous Israeli airstrike that ‎targeted their home in the Gaza Strip.‎ The Grand Imam condemned the atrocity as a horrific crime that epitomizes the ugliest ‎forms of terrorism inflicted upon unarmed people who possess nothing but steadfastness ‎and faith.‎ He affirmed that the image of this steadfast mother receiving the charred bodies of her ‎children, while continuing to fulfill her humanitarian duties at Nasser Medical Complex, is ‎a cry to the conscience of the world. It lays bare the disturbing silence, and, indeed, the ‎complicity, of some international actors who support the Israeli entity as it continues its ‎crimes and massacres, unrestrained by human decency or accountability before history.‎ The Grand Imam stressed that such crimes will neither extinguish the flame of truth nor ‎diminish the Palestinian people's legitimate rights or their resolve to remain rooted in their ‎land. Nor will they erase from the memory of the free peoples of the world the harrowing ‎chapters of this ongoing injustice.‎ He concluded by praying to Almighty Allah to envelop the martyrs in His vast mercy, raise ‎them to the highest ranks, and make them a source of honor for their parents on the Day ‎of Judgment. He also prayed that Allah grant their parents peace and comfort, and reward ‎them abundantly for their endurance and faith; 'Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed ‎unto Him we shall return.'
