Hundreds of outlaw motorcyclists are expected to gather in Metro Vancouver this weekend, prompting a warning from police.
The group of Hells Angels is set to ride in a procession from Coquitlam to a banquet hall in Surrey on Thursday, beginning at 11:30 a.m., according to authorities.
Drivers are being warned to expect delays along the route, as well as an increased police presence.
'(The Surrey Police Service), as well as police from neighbouring jurisdictions, will be monitoring a very large Hells Angels motorcycle procession that is expected to draw over 700 motorcyclists,' a statement from the department said, adding that a 'significant' presence of bikers is expected to last through Sunday.
'SPS will have additional officers working through the weekend, with special attention paid to restaurants and bars throughout Surrey to prevent any gang-related incidents,' the statement concluded.
