I accidentally painted my neighbour's wall thinking it was mine – now we're at war… I'm shocked at his ‘messy' response
WHEN you have close neighbours, it can be inevitable that some disagreements occur.
However, one woman has found herself in a 'paint war' when she decided to change the colour of the wall by her driveway.
Christina said on her @christinamc1987 account: 'So I decided to sort out this wall and make it look nice again.
'I then receive a random note from my neighbour saying this… to which I replied I'm just painting it.
'(Bear in mind the previous owner had had the wall built and painted grey all around my house).'
After painting the wall white, the note she had received from her angry neighbour said: 'Hello, Phil here.
'The wall is within my ground boundary lines. Just for your info.'
Christina shared how she didn't fully know where the exact boundary for the land was as the title plan had been a red box with no further information.
She continued: 'I tried to speak to him to no avail, left him a note explaining I was literally just painting it as it was a mess, asked him to come and speak to me if he doesn't agree with that… and got nothing.
'Seeing as he's not said anything I assumed he was fine (maybe naively) but it's my first time painting a wall.'
However, it turned out that the neighbour was not happy with the painting and decided to get his own back.
Christina showed how he had painted his fence and portion of the front wall bright green.

She added: 'And to top it off, I painted my porch window green.
'I just have no words, I'm absolutely baffled as to why tidying up a wall would upset someone so much.
'He hasn't touched the thing in the 5 years I've been there for.'
The upset homeowner captioned her video: 'When the neighbour loses his s*** and paints your window green over trying to tidy up a wall.'

She added in the caption: 'I did not realise the reaction this was going to cause otherwise I would have pressed harder to check he was okay.
'All I did was try and make it look nice, I can't really take a picture of his house but believe me if you see what I live next too you would understand he was never in a million years going to do it off his own back… but for some reason this touched a nerve and it baffled me.
'My other neighbour is absolutely made up I have painted hers for her and can't be more thankful.
'It's a lesson learnt for sure, but totally not done in any way shape or form in spite.'
Her dilemma has sparked a debate, with many people torn as to who is in the right.
Some supported the neighbour, with one saying: 'If the wall doesn't belong to you, as in it's not within your boundary line, then the actual owner can paint it whatever colour they want and probably don't want it to look like it's part of your property.'
Another added: 'You painted his wall, he painted your window.'
However, many supported her, with one writing: 'The window is criminal damage, I would contact the police.'
A second agreed: 'If it was really his wall why hasn't he painted all your side as well.'
