NBA Trade Rumors: Golden State Warriors might acquire $228.2 million Milwaukee Bucks superstar in blockbuster 3-way deal with the Los Angeles Lakers

Ross Cameron-Imagn Images) The Golden State Warriors are no strangers to bold moves, and with Stephen Curry still playing at an elite level, the franchise could make another championship push by acquiring Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo in a seismic four-team trade. Why the Golden State Warriors Would Pursue Giannis Antetokounmpo The Golden State Warriors have always been aggressive in chasing star talent, and after trading for Jimmy Butler earlier this year, pairing him with Stephen Curry and Giannis Antetokounmpo would create one of the most formidable trios in NBA history. The Proposed Trade Breakdown The trade suggested by NBA Insiders on ESPN: Team Receives Golden State Warriors Giannis Antetokounmpo Los Angeles Lakers Draymond Green, Daniel Gafford Dallas Mavericks Gabe Vincent, 2031 first-round pick (LAL), 2025 second-round pick Milwaukee Bucks Austin Reaves, Brandin Podziemski, Jonathan Kuminga (S&T), Trayce Jackson-Davis, Maxi Kleber, 2029 & 2031 first-round picks (GSW), 2030 first-round swap (LAL) What Giannis Brings to the Warriors Giannis posing for the camera (Image via Getty) - Elite Two-Way Dominance: Giannis is a perennial MVP candidate, capable of anchoring both offense and defense. - Championship Pedigree: He led the Bucks to a title in 2021 and thrives in high-pressure situations. - Perfect Fit with Curry & Butler: His rim-running, playmaking, and defensive versatility would mesh perfectly with Golden State's system. The Cost of Acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo To land Giannis Antetokounmpo , the Warriors would have to part with: - Draymond Green (sent to Lakers) – A defensive leader but aging at 34. - Jonathan Kuminga (sign-and-trade) – A promising young forward with high upside. - Brandin Podziemski & Trayce Jackson-Davis – Two key rotation pieces with long-term potential. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Investire è più facile che mai BG SAXO Scopri di più Undo - Multiple First-Round Picks (2029, 2031, and a 2030 swap) – Sacrificing future assets for a win-now move. Would This Trade Work for the Golden State Warriors? Pros: - Instantly makes the Warriors title favorites with Curry, Giannis, and Butler. - Giannis is still in his prime (29 years old) and fits the Warriors' timeline. - Offsets the loss of Green by adding an even more dominant two-way force. Cons: - Depletes depth by trading young contributors (Kuminga, Podziemski, Jackson-Davis). - Future draft capital takes a hit, limiting flexibility post-Curry era. - Giannis' long-term health and fit with Butler would need to be monitored. Final Verdict on this trade rumor: A High-Risk, High-Reward Gamble If Giannis becomes available, the Warriors should strongly consider this deal. Pairing him with Curry and Butler would give them the best chance to win another championship before Curry's career winds down. However, it would come at the cost of their young core and future draft flexibility. As the original article by Kram noted: "The Warriors are almost always in the mix for stars, and after trading for Jimmy Butler III in February, they could take an even bigger swing this summer to maximize the remainder of Stephen Curry's extended prime." Recent Report Bodes Well For Warriors' Chances at Landing Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Golden State Warriors have their core, for better or worse, moving forward. When healthy, Draymond Green, Stephen Curry, and Jimmy Butler look like they can carry a team to the NBA Finals, although their longevity has to be called into question. All three stars are past their prime, and even though they are still elite, the Warriors have to plan for a post-Curry future. On Monday, the Dallas Mavericks emerged as a possible landing spot after winning the draft lottery. In theory, the Mavericks could send the first pick to the Bucks (as well as matching salary) for the Greek Freak, which would be an offer no one could come close to matching. Advertisement However, one insider doesn't think Dallas has any interest in that. The Spurs, much like the Mavs, might prefer to add to their young core with the second overall pick rather than juggle the salaries of Giannis, Victor Wembanyama, and De'Aaron Fox. The Rockets, as well, might not want to include Amen Thompson or Reed Sheppard in a deal. It's a lot of "what ifs," but if the Dubs landing Butler and the Los Angeles Lakers landing Luka Doncic taught us anything this offseason, it's to expect the unexpected.
