‘Bro won both matches': RCB fan proposes moments after historic IPL win, video goes viral
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally ended their 18-year wait for an Indian Premier League (IPL) title, clinching a dramatic six-run victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. As the final ball was bowled, the city burst into celebration – fireworks lit up the night sky like it is Diwali, streets transformed into parades, and fans partied deep into the night. Bengaluru was a city in festival mode.
But amid the chaos and joy, one unforgettable moment stood out: a fan proposed to his girlfriend minutes after RCB's win, and the video has now gone viral.
Filmed in what appears to be a buzzing café or club during post-match celebrations, the video shows a man, wearing an RCB jersey, taking his girlfriend's hand, dropping to one knee, and proposing as the crowd erupts in cheers. She says 'yes,' and he gently slides the ring onto her finger. The couple embrace as the room fills with applause and emotional shouts.
The clip was posted on Instagram by user @prashu_dj with the caption: 'RCB won the match… and he won her heart. What a moment.' The video has already garnered over 2.3 million views and 302,000 likes.

Social media users are swooning over the proposal. One person wrote, 'Crying for strangers on the Internet should be on my resume.' Another commented, 'I bet everyone he is hugging is strangers who are just happy for their fellow man.' A third user commented, 'My question to people liking this video don't like and go, pls plan something like this for ur loved ones.' A fourth said, 'Don't tell me he also took 18 yrs to propose her.'
After RCB won their maiden IPL title, Virat Kohli got emotional. A viral video showed him breaking down, and it was shared by an X user saying, 'Men also cry.'
Later, Kohli said, 'I have given this team my youth, prime, and experience.' Tried to win it every season, gave it everything I can,' he said, his voice heavy. 'Never thought this day would come, was overcome with emotion after we won.'
He also took a moment to acknowledge his longtime RCB teammate and close friend AB de Villiers, who was present at the ground in his role as a television expert. 'What ABD has done for the franchise is tremendous,' Kohli said. 'Told him, 'this is as much yours as it is ours'.'
