Amazon MGM Studios has announced the global streaming premiere of its upcoming action-comedy The Pickup, starring Eddie Murphy, Pete Davidson, and Keke Palmer. The film is set to debut on Prime Video on August 6, and the first-look stills have already begun creating buzz among fans. Directed by Tim Story, best known for helming hits like Ride Along, Barbershop, and The Blackening, The Pickup follows a routine armoured truck job that spirals into chaos. Murphy plays Russell, a no-nonsense driver paired with Travis, played by Davidson, his offbeat and unlikely partner. Their mundane day turns dangerous when they're ambushed by a group of ruthless criminals led by Zoe (Palmer), a sharp and calculating mastermind with plans that stretch far beyond the cash in the truck. What begins as a standard pickup transforms into a high-octane day filled with clashing personalities, unexpected alliances, and escalating mayhem. Pete Davidson, meanwhile, is working on the crime drama How to Rob a Bank. The Zurich Film Festival also awarded Stolen a Special Mention, further cementing its reputation on the global stage. In India, the film premiered at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival and was later screened at the 28th Kerala International Film Festival. Executive Producer Anurag Kashyap said, 'Cinema that is strong, fearless, relentless and emotionally honest, that grabs you from the very first frame and doesn't let go till the very end, and Stolen did just that for me. Just imagine all the controversy makers you have heard about lately coming together under one roof to stir up even more controversy? Something similar will happen in a new show on Amazon Prime Video, hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar. On Friday, the makers of the show dropped a teaser giving a glimpse of what and who to expect in their adaptation of internationally acclaimed reality show The Traitors. According to the makers, The Traitors will be 'the ultimate game of trust, betrayal and deception where alliances will be fragile and no one will be what they seem.' The game will see about 20 players coming together to compete for the coveted title and a prize pot of up to Rs 1 crore. In the date announcement video, Karan Johar introduced a few players of the show. The filmmaker said, 'Munna Bhai died and you cried? Paatal Lok made you question Dharti Ke Log? Poor thing. And Farzi notes felt real? Just like your Farzi friends? You think you had your dose of betrayals? I only hope you can handle what's coming next.' Meanwhile, Raj Kundra shared, 'Seems like today it's a trend to be two-faced.' Every participant on the show has found themselves in the midst of controversy. Apoorva Mukhija recently drew attention for her appearance on Samay Raina's subscriber-only YouTube show, India's Got Latent.
