Another Chance for Democrats To Embrace Civilization
The universe keeps giving the Democratic Party opportunities to repudiate its era of lawless radicalism. The latest is another appalling conflagration of 'mostly peaceful' protests on the West Coast. For someone looking to lead the party back from a disappointing election cycle and into a position of broad public trust, this just might be the political chance of a lifetime. Perhaps there is someone for whom the recent violence represents the perfect issue to demonstrate that the party will no longer be ruled by the progressive left. But who could it be? Coincidentally Holly Otterbein reported over the weekend for Politico:

Who Benefits Most From Trump's Bumbling?
Regarding Gerard Baker's 'Is Trump a Tyrant or a Savior? Maybe Just a Bumbler' (Free Expression, April 22): A secure border, an efficient and effective government and reversed institutional wokeness play well. But with a cast of sycophants, each playing their role in our current national reality TV show, how can bumbling not ensue? Perhaps it's a feature: Look what they did now! More eyeballs! Flood the zone! I have two main concerns. China and Russia don't seem to be bumbling along, and while still I believe our democracy will outlast President Trump and his enablers, the bar has been set even lower for when the voters 'change channels.' The disastrous, presumably nonbumbling policies of AOC and the progressive left may seem like a return to competence.
