Propane Trade Shows Signs of Revival as US and China Mend Ties
Chinese plastics makers are showing tentative signs of reviving US propane purchases as the two economies seek to mend ties.
Propane dehydrogenation plants, which turn the gas into building blocks for plastics, bought at least four US cargoes this month, an increase from May, according to traders with knowledge of the matter, who asked not to be identified. Aiding the trade, US propane was also becoming cheaper relative to alternatives, they said.
