Police seize learner driver's car twice in one day
A learner driver in Nottingham had his car seized twice in one day after he was caught driving without L Plates or supervision, police said.A 38-year-old was pulled over at 08:00 BST on Friday, 9 May for a document Police officers seized his car on the spot after he presented his provisional license and issued him with a traffic offence the force said he was spotted behind the wheel a few hours later, at 13:20, after he collected his car from a recovery yard in Sneinton.
Officers issued a second traffic offence report and took his keys again."I've seen a few unusual things in my time as a police officer, but this was certainly a first," said PC Dan Bird of the Radford Road response team."You can get fined up to £1,000 and receive six penalty points on your provisional license for driving without the correct supervision."Similarly, you can receive up to six penalty points for not displaying L plates."If the learner driver fails to do this, we will not hesitate to take the appropriate action."
