A TOP holiday resort has approved huge fines for public sex and nudity in a major crackdown on badly-behaved Brit tourists. The Algarve party resort of Albufeira has gone to war against boozy tourists and slapped new rules to curb alcohol-fueled debauchery. 9 9 9 9 Enraged City Hall officials on Friday approved huge new penalties of up to £3,375 for holidaymakers flouting a strict new 'good behaviour' code. Hefty fines will now be imposed for everything from urinating in the street to getting naked. The rules will kick in within weeks, in time for the summer season, aiming to curb anti-social behaviour. And locals hope they will turn the tide, with nakedness, vomiting in the street and having sex in public all now coming at a heavy price. Badly behaved tourists who go starkers in public, or get caught bonking or simulating sex, face paying anything from £1,685 to £3,375. Spitting or urinating in the street will be punished with fines of between £125 and £630. And entering bars and other businesses topless could lead to a £1,250 levy. Bars and cafes which let customers in without the proper dress code will also be fined. Brit tourists were first warned about the new get-tough rules in February when Albufeira's mayor Jose Carlos Rolo announced the "Code of Conduct" plans. Last summer, a group of partying Brit tourists put on a shocking display of public nudity, leaving the locals fuming. During The Sun's investigation into tourist revelry in the town, we saw how cops and medics are already patrolling the mile-long strip — nicknamed 'The Chaos' by locals — to keep a firm eye on the crazy, drunken antics of holidaymakers. Little wonder some end up in a terrible state, as girls are plied with free drinks at many pubs in a bid to lure in paying lads, while every bar offers shots from £1.70. Local taxi driver Guilherme, 25, told The Sun: 'Stay here more than one night and you'll see tourists having sex in the street. Sometimes it's groups of naked men on balconies. It's shocking.' Furious locals decided to bring in the new code of conduct after a group of British louts got naked on a bar top and proceeded to crawl around in broad daylight last year. 9 9 9 9 It comes as a 21-year-old Brit was found dead at the foot of a set of steps in Albufeira's old town last Wednesday. Cops are said to believe booze is behind the tragedy. The news, which emerged on Saturday, came days after reveller Greg Monks, 38, from Glasgow, was found dead in a ravine near Albufeira. He was there on a stag do and had left the party early to return to his hotel when it is thought he jumped over a wall while drunk, unaware there was a steep drop on the other side. He was missing for a week. The fatalities shine an unwelcome light on the more dangerous and seedier side of the Algarve resort. Once marketed as a family-friendly getaway, now a much younger crew of holidaymakers is descending on the cobbled streets, turning it into a nocturnal party town. 9

Furious locals claim a nearby beach has been taken over by gay nudist men having sex in public. Residents of the pretty village of Corton near Lowestoft, Suffolk are demanding an end to what they describe as a growing phenomenon in the area. They suggest men are travelling to the picturesque sands to engage in sexual activities. Local Labour MP Jess Asato has joined residents in a walk along the beach in protest against the trend. She said: 'Residents are fed up with their beach being made a no-go area due to criminal sexual behaviour. 'Our walk was a symbol of their efforts to ensure that no-one is feels afraid to use it - and send a signal that we will not tolerate what amounts to criminal acts.' One local, a retired newspaper executive, said: 'It's no longer safe to take children there to play on their beach. 'It started about three years ago and has got worse every year since since - I was with my two and three-year-old grandchildren last summer and there were naked men deliberately showing off and flaunting themselves. The Azure Seas village, which has more than 100 holiday and permanent cabins and homes which cost up to £200,000, overlooks the beach and has its own direct access to the sea. Sales manager Duncan Gooch said: 'It's got nothing to do with nudity whatsoever - it is the behaviour of some of the men who go there, a group who think it is okay to indulge in lewd and sexual behaviour on the beach, openly in front of other people. 'It is blatant and deliberate - some men are clearly exhibitionists and we take offence - as does everyone living or staying here - at their behaviour. 'Things have got worse over recent so year and are now so bad that a lot of people simply won't go onto the beach because it is full of naked exhibitionists parading up and down and having sex. 'We have complained to the police and they say they will look into it. 'But they told us there was nothing we could do about it. Callers who complain are simply give a reference number. 'We have 100 holiday and permanent homes here but this perverted sexual activity - which goes on from dawn until after dusk - is not what they want to see.' In a bid to curb the trend, a notice warning against it was erected by the beach. It has since been taken down. The sign read: 'Corton Beach is not a naturist beach. 'Lewd behaviour will not be tolerated and may be recorded by CCTV and reported to the police. 'Causing an offence to others is a criminal offence and all cases will be reported form prosecution. By order of Corton Parish Council.' The local authority said it put up the sign following a string of complaints from resident. A council spokesman said: 'Businesses overlooking the beach have also been severely impacted, reporting substantial financial losses directly attributed to these behaviours. 'The parish council is obligated to support and protect the parishioners and businesses. 'Our stance remains unchanged - we recognise that nudism is a legal activity and our sign was a warning to individuals whose lewd activities were causing distress to other beach-goers.' District councillor Paul Ashdown said: 'Most people are aware that sunbathing in the nude on the beach is not illegal but residents have witnessed lewd behaviour which is offensive and should not be conducted in a public space.'
