Winnipeg police are looking for a suspect after a 30-year-old man was injured in a random attack at The Forks last week.
Witnesses say a man was randomly assaulted and knocked to the ground on June 6 at 11:15 pm. He was then attacked until he lost consciousness and was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Police say the suspect stole an item belonging to the man, walked away, and allegedly threw (throwing) the item at a woman walking a dog near the Riverwalk. The suspect was last seen near Assiniboine Avenue and Garry Street.
Police released a photo of the suspect Tuesday. They are looking for a man between 25 and 35 years old with a medium to heavy build. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, black shoes and a black New York Yankees baseball cap.
Police are also hoping the woman will come forward, saying she may have information that could help the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 204-986-6219.
