Kohli Pens Emotional Note Post IPL Win: 'Years Of Heartbreaks & Disappointment'
Last Updated: Virat Kohli celebrated Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) first Indian Premier League (IPL) title win in 2025, expressing gratitude to fans and reflecting on his 18-year journey. Virat Kohli took to coailmedia to celebrate Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) winning the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy. 'This team made the dream possible, a season I'll never ever forget. We've thoroughly enjoyed the ride over the last 2.5 months. This one is for the fans of rcb who never ever left our side in the worst of times. This one is for all the years of heartbreaks and disappointment. This is for every inch of effort left on the field playing for this team. As far as the ipl trophy is concerned- you've made me wait 18 years to be able to lift you and celebrate my friend, but it's been absolutely worth the wait." he posted on Instagram. After making history, Kohli had stated on Tuesday that he had dedicated his 'youth and prime" to achieving one of the best moments of his career, as RCB secured their first IPL title on their 18th attempt. However, the 36-year-old Kohli admitted that the six-run victory over Punjab Kings in Ahmedabad, while sweet, ranked 'five levels below Test cricket". An emotional Kohli, who has participated in all 18 of RCB's campaigns, including the three previous finals they lost, dropped to the ground before being embraced by his teammates. 'I've given this team my youth, my prime, my experience. I gave it everything I have. I never thought this day would come. I was overcome with emotion as soon as the last ball was bowled," said Kohli before passionately defending the oldest and longest format of the game. 'This moment is among the best in my career. But it still ranks five levels below Test cricket. That's how much I value Test cricket and love it. 'So, I urge the youngsters coming through… if you want to earn respect in world cricket, take up Test cricket and give your heart and soul to it." In the IPL, Kohli joined Bangalore (then) at the IPL's inception in 2008 and remained with them despite the disappointment of losing the finals in 2009, 2011, and 2016. Kohli was a key player this season, scoring 657 runs, including eight half-centuries in 15 innings, often playing the anchor role after opening the batting. 'Tonight I'll sleep like a baby," said Kohli, who hinted that full retirement might not be far off. 'I have an opportunity to play this game for only a few more years, there's an end date to our career. 'And by the time I hang up my boots, I want to sit at home and say I gave it everything I had." Big blow for RCB! No Tim David in playing XI vs PBKS; fans stunned as Liam Livingstone retains spot in IPL 2025 final
After over two months of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 — including a one-week suspension due to India-Pakistan border tensions — it's finally time for the Final, featuring two teams that have never lifted the trophy in 17 years. Hoping to change their fate in the tournament's 18th edition, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are set to take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. At the toss, RCB skipper Rajat Patidar once again lost. While the toss result was out of his control, it was what he said afterward that left netizens confused, surprised, angry, and stunned. RCB's playing XI for the IPL 2025 Final The Bengaluru captain mentioned that they, too, wanted to field first, but it was his statement about playing the same XI as in Qualifier 1 that disappointed fans. The unchanged lineup means no Tim David in the playing XI, and Liam Livingstone gets another chance to prove himself in the IPL 2025 Final. There had been uncertainty surrounding Tim David's availability, and it now appears he is still not match-fit after suffering a hamstring injury. Fans react to no Tim David in the team Many cricket fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express their frustration and question why the big-hitter was not included in the playing XI. Several pointed out how Tim David has rescued RCB from tough situations in the past and was needed now more than ever. Some believe this decision could be a game-changer — potentially costing RCB the final. One said, "I knew it RCB will lose toss and are going to bat now. I feel RCB is losing man it just like 19/11 no Tim David they can only go up to 180." 'Will divorce my wife if RCB doesn't win IPL 2025': Fan's open challenge goes viral; internet says, 'lawyer khoj ke rakho'
RCB fans have always been known for their unyielding passion, but a latest claim by a fan takes things to a whole new level. As the 2025 IPL season heats up, an RCB supporter has captured the internet's attention with a bold statement: if RCB doesn't win the IPL trophy this season, he'll divorce his wife. Yes, you read that right. And the internet, as expected, has had a field day with this one. RCB fan vows divorce if team doesn't lift the trophy In a video that has quickly gone viral, an RCB fan is seen passionately speaking to a reporter while wearing his RCB jersey. When asked if he is an RCB fan, he responds in the affirmative with an angry yes. The fan, standing alongside his wife, then confidently declares, 'If RCB doesn't win the IPL this season, I will divorce my wife.' While his wife stands next to him, looking slightly amused, he goes on to say that this is his "open challenge" to the team. 😭 'Find a lawyer already': Internet reacts to RCB's fan's bold declaration RCB fans are known for their dedication, and with the team sitting at the top of the IPL points table this season, expectations are at an all-time high. With Kohli's stellar performance and a collective performance from the rest of the team, there's hope that this could finally be the year RCB clinches the coveted IPL trophy. However, given RCB's past, the internet has its reservations. One X user asked the fan to already hire a divorce lawyer, implying the chances of RCB winning the trophy are slim. "Abhi se hi lawyer khojke rakho, RCB to nahi hai jeetne wali hai trophy (Better start looking for a lawyer already, uncle... because RCB is not going to win the trophy)," the user said. abhi se he lawyer khojke rakho rcb to nahi he jeetne wali hai trophy Another user joked, "The exact reason for the increasing number of divorce cases in India." The exact reason for increasing no. of divorce cases in India.🤣 A third user said, "He'll now have to pay the alimony," and a fourth stated, "Most sane RCB fan." RCB, one of the original eight teams in the IPL, has had its fair share of heartbreaks, with three trips to the final and three tough losses; first to the Deccan Chargers in 2009, then to the Chennai Super Kings in 2011, and finally to the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016. But this season feels different. The team looks stronger than ever and remains unbeaten, except for their home ground, Chinnaswamy. But in a tournament as unpredictable as the IPL, anything can happen until the very last ball is bowled. To stay updated on the stories that are going viral follow Indiatimes Trending.
