The 78th Cannes Film Festival is underway, and Indian cinema is making a powerful impression at the global event. From the unveiling of the Bharat Pavilion to dazzling red carpet moments, the French Riviera is witnessing a vibrant celebration of Indian talent.
The Bharat Pavilion was officially launched on Thursday in the presence of Indian film veterans Anupam Kher and Shekhar Kapur. Indian films like Homebound and Tanvi: The Great set to premiere at the prestigious festival.
Jacqueline Fernandez added to the country's proud presence at Cannes by being recognised under the 'Women in Cinema" initiative by the Red Sea Film Festival. Representing India among six other global honorees, she was celebrated for her influence and contribution to cinema.
Jacqueline stunned on the red carpet in a contemporary white shirt dress adorned with metallic silver chains and detailed embellishments. The bold, sculptural ensemble fused structure and movement, giving her an edgy, futuristic look. With her sleek bun & radiant makeup, the Kick actress owned the moment.

Meanwhile, debutante Nitanshi Goel captivated the cameras with her edgy style. She first graced the red carpet in a structured black and gold gown with intricate embroidery and layered tulle. The off-shoulder design and minimal accessories oozed glamour.

Her second look, however, stole the show. Wearing a dusty pink and white lehenga-saree, Nitanshi paid tribute to Indian cinema's golden age. Her hair was styled with pearl strings and framed portraits of legendary actresses Rekha, Madhubala, Meena Kumari, and Nargis.
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt skipped the opening of Cannes 2025. While fans expressed disappointment, reports now indicate that the actress will walk the red carpet at the festival's closing ceremony after completing her shoot for Love And War.
