Arkansas Storm Team Forecast: Low Risk Storm Threat Tonight for Southern Arkansas
Scattered showers are lingering across parts of Arkansas this evening, especially in the southern half of the state. A few of these may develop into isolated thunderstorms later tonight. The severe threat remains low, but some storms could bring gusty winds and small hail in southern portions of the state. Most areas will stay quiet overnight, with warm and muggy conditions continuing. Looking ahead to Sunday, expect a warm and humid day with highs in the lower 90s. A cluster of storms is expected to develop in Texas and Oklahoma and push into southwestern Arkansas late Sunday evening into early Monday. This system could bring damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and a localized flooding risk, especially in southern Arkansas. Storms are expected to weaken as they move eastward into central Arkansas early Monday. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Weekend Outlook: Highs in the 70s amid spotty showers Sunday into next week
(PINPOINT WEATHER) — What a lovely finish to the week! Temperatures felt a little cooler, and they were! This was due to a cold front pressing through the region Thursday night. As the wind relaxes more tonight, lows will end up even cooler, dropping into the upper 40s and low 50s by morning. A cool start to the weekend, but highs will reach the mid and upper 70s again Saturday afternoon. Much of the day is dry, but some spotty light rain can't be ruled out by evening. Moisture continues to increase Sunday through Memorial Day Monday, bringing in clouds and eventually, more scattered showers and storms. A passing shower or storm could try to impact the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, but it's not looking like a washout. Monday's highs will likely be even cooler, with some areas struggling to break out of the 60s in the afternoon. Tonight: Mostly clear and cool. Low 52. Saturday: Partly cloudy, small shower chance late. High 77. Sunday: Clouds & sun. A few PM showers & storms possible. 60/79. Memorial Day: Mainly cloudy with a few showers. 61/72.
