Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in Central Otago
Photo: A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car on State Highway 8 in Central Otago on Monday night. Emergency services were called to the crash in the town of Roxburgh, about 7.20pm. The person died at the scene. The serious crash unit has completed a scene examination and SH8 has since reopened.

Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle crash near Takapau shortly before 7.30am. Police said the person died at the scene. The serious crash unit has attended and enquiries are ongoing.
