It's not exactly going to be pool weather for Memorial Day in the Pittsburgh area

It's not exactly going to be pool weather, but the forecast for Memorial Day in the Pittsburgh area is dry. Any Alert Days Ahead? We need to keep an eye on Friday storm and rain chances. Aware: Today will be the tenth day in a row with us not seeing 80 degrees. This is probably not the Memorial Day forecast many were hoping for, but it is the want that we've been given. I always hate complaining about Memorial Day weather because it always inevitably comes back to why we are here in the first place. It's hard to properly find a way to thank our servicemen and servicewomen who died defending our way of life. The best way to pay tribute to their sacrifice is by living each and every day defending the freedoms we enjoy thanks to them and trying to make our families, neighborhoods, cities, and societies better for those who come behind us. Getting back to the weather, I will say that yes this weather is less than optimal. Highs today will only hit the upper 60s. Not exactly pool weather. Even worse skies will be a mix of mostly cloudy to overcast this afternoon. KDKA Weather Center At least we will be dry, and wind speeds will be low. The morning hours through maybe as late as 3 p.m. will be sunny. Tuesday won't be much warmer than today. I have highs hitting 70°. Rain chances will arrive late in the afternoon, so most of your Tuesday will be dry. While model data isn't consistent on what to expect, I'd say to expect around 0.4" of rain to fall between 8 p.m. on Tuesday through 2 a.m. on Wednesday. Spotty rain showers will continue through the rest of the day. Rain chances will be low on Thursday. Rain chances will be back early on Friday morning with rain and potential storms rumbling through overnight. I do keep in a rain chance for the area on Saturday with Sunday chances for rain being in place early in the day. When it comes to temperatures, HIghs should hover near 70 degrees all the way through Sunday. KDKA Weather Center We should hit the mid-70s on Monday for highs, and I have us hitting 80 degrees on Tuesday of next week. Russia and Ukraine complete second stage of record prisoner swap

Another 307 Russian soldiers have returned home as a result of a record prisoner exchange with Ukraine which was agreed on during the direct negotiations between Moscow and Kiev in Istanbul earlier in May, the Russian Defense Ministry has said. The ministry said in a statement on Saturday that 'in line with the Russian-Ukrainian agreements reached on May 16 in Istanbul, another 307 Russian servicemen were returned from the territory controlled by the Kiev regime.' The Ukrainian side has received 307 of its POWs from Russia in return, it added. DETAILS TO FOLLOW

Moscow and Kiev exchange remains of fallen soldiers

Moscow and Kiev have exchanged the remains of fallen servicemen, Russian MP Shamsail Saraliev has told RBK media outlet. The lawmaker is a member of the parliamentary commission overseeing the country's military operation against Ukrainian forces. According to Saraliev, the Russian Defense Ministry returned 909 bodies to Ukraine and received the remains of 34 Russian soldiers in exchange. Ukraine's Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War confirmed the swap in a Telegram post, saying Kiev had received the bodies of 909 servicemen. It did not disclose how many of Russia's fallen soldiers were handed over. The operation involved the Ukrainian military as well as the domestic security service, the SBU, and was coordinated with the International Committee of the Red Cross, it added. Similar swaps have been carried out on a monthly basis. In January, Russia handed 757 bodies to Ukraine in exchange for the remains of 49 troops. In February, Kiev received 757 bodies, while 45 were returned to Russia. In March, the sides exchanged the remains of 909 Ukrainian servicemen for the bodies of 43 Russians, including eight civilians who were captured during Kiev's cross-border incursion into Kursk Region and later died in captivity. Last month, Russia handed over 909 Ukrainian bodies and received the remains of 41 soldiers in return. Russian war correspondent Aleksandr Kots wrote in Telegram on Friday that during the past three exchanges, many of the Ukrainian bodies belonged to servicemen who had been killed during the incursion into Kursk Region. On April 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the full liberation of Kursk Region, saying Ukraine had suffered heavy losses. According to Moscow's estimates, Kiev's casualties during the incursion amounted to more than 76,000. The first direct talks between Moscow and Kiev in over three years concluded on Friday at Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul, according to media reports. The negotiations focused on a possible ceasefire and prisoner exchange, according to Ukrainian delegation head Rustem Umerov, who said the sides had agreed to swap 1,000 prisoners each. Russia's chief negotiator Vladimir Medinsky confirmed an exchange is being prepared.
