Man who raped girl, 15, on Falkirk street jailed for nine years
A man who raped a 15-year-old girl after following her on a street in Stirlingshire has been jailed for nine Nikzad, 29, targeted the girl in Falkirk town centre in October an asylum seeker from Afghanistan, repeatedly requested her telephone number, uttered sexual remarks then led her into a courtyard where he raped the High Court in Livingston, Judge Morris told him it was an "extremely serious sexual offence" and said he would be deported after his sentence. Harrowing attack Passing sentence, Judge Morris said: "I appreciate that you don't accept that you've done anything wrong, but the fact remains that you've been convicted of an extremely serious sexual offence against a child."I know your counsel has now explained to you that in those circumstances only a substantial custodial sentence is appropriate."Police Scotland's Det Insp Forbes Wilson said it was "a particularly harrowing attack carried out during daylight in a busy town centre".He said: "Nikzad's heinous actions had a profound effect on his young victim and I would like to commend her strength throughout this ordeal."After his jail term Nikzad will be supervised on license for three years.A non-harassment order banning Nikzad from contacting or attempting to contact the victim was also granted indefinitely.

Sex offender jailed for following teen on York train
A man who followed a 15-year-old girl on a train and made sexual comments to her has been Osman, 31, who was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order because of a previous offence, approached the girl on a train from York to Sherburn-in-Elmet at about 21:50 BST on 25 May, according to British Transport of Barlby Road, Selby, pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual communication with a child and to failing to notify police of a change of address, as part of his requirements under the Sexual Offences was jailed for 32 weeks at York Magistrates' Court on 5 June. He must also sign the sex offenders register for 10 years. Officers said Osman was "visibly drunk" when he approached the girl."He repeatedly professed his love for her, and despite the girl telling Osman her age he continued to make advances," a force spokesperson girl called the police and a ticket inspector who saw what was happening intervened and helped the girl to safely leave the Transport Police officers met the train at the next stop, Selby railway station, and Osman was arrested and taken into Con Liam Brown said: "This was a frightening ordeal for the girl and it is because of her bravery that Osman has been brought to justice." Laurence Fox wears ‘two tier' cap to court
Laurence Fox wore a 'two tier' cap as he arrived at court over a sexual offence. The former actor, 47, is accused of sharing a compromising photo on social media of TV presenter Narinder Kaur, who regularly appears on Good Morning Britain. The cap was Fox's second apparent reference during his trial to 'two-tier justice' – the claim that the criminal justice system treats different groups of people differently. He had arrived at court in April with a cap that read 'two-tier Britain'. He appeared at Woolwich Crown Court charged with two counts under the Sexual Offences Act 2003, while Ms Kaur, who has waived her right to anonymity, sat in the public gallery. The former actor is accused of sharing a photograph of a person's genitals 'intending that the person or another person would see the genitals, and for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, and being reckless as to whether that person would be caused alarm, distress or humiliation' in the first count. The second count alleges he shared a photograph which showed, or appeared to show, 'another person in an intimate state, with the intention of causing that person alarm, distress or humiliation'. Fox not asked to enter any pleas The court hearing on Thursday was listed for plea and trial preparation. However, Fox, wearing a white shirt and grey blazer with jeans, was not asked to enter any pleas. A provisional trial, estimated to last four days, was set for Dec 6 2027 at the same court, with Fox granted bail to appear for a further case management hearing on Nov 14 this year. Sarah Forshaw KC, defending, asked the court if it would be possible to look at whether other venues may be able to accommodate an earlier trial because 'December 2027 is a long way ahead'. The police previously said Fox had been 'charged with an offence contrary to section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act 2003' which 'relates to an image that was posted on a social media platform in April 2024'. Section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act relates to 'cyber flashing'. The charge, introduced in 2023, makes it a criminal offence to intentionally share a sexual image of someone without consent, with the aim of causing alarm, distress, humiliation or for sexual gratification. Upskirting, which involves taking pictures of people under their clothes without their permission, became a specific criminal offence in 2019. Offenders can face up to two years in jail and be placed on the sex offenders register.

Two 14-year-old boys held over rape of girl, 12, in Dorchester
Two 14-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of raping a 12-year-old girl in a field next to a Police said the incident, near Thomas Hardye School in Dorchester, was reported at 19:45 BST on Sunday.A cordon remains in place while officers examine the two boys, from Weymouth, have been released on bail while enquiries continue, police said. Teenage boys, 14, arrested on suspicion of raping girl, 12, in field outside a secondary school
Two 14-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of raping of a 12-year-old girl outside a secondary school. Police received a report at around 7.45pm on Sunday that the girl had been raped in a field outside The Thomas Hardye School in Dorchester, Dorset. The schoolgirl had met with the two boys earlier in the day before the alleged sex attack, officers said. Detectives and specially trained officers have spoken with the youngster, officials confirmed. Meanwhile, a police cordon remains in place at the scene while searches are carried out. Two 14-year-old boys from the Weymouth are have since been arrested on suspicion of rape and released on bail pending further enquiries. Inspector Sam Goom, of Dorset Police, urged locals not to be 'alarmed' at the heightened police presence in the area. Insp Groom added: 'We take reports of sexual offences very seriously and my colleagues have been carrying out extensive enquiries into the incident in recent days while supporting the victim. 'You will see an enhanced police presence around the playing fields as officers maximise their efforts to recover evidence, please do not be alarmed by this.
