The Brief An apartment fire in St. Paul left 14 residents displaced and three injured. The three that were injured were taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, but is under investigation. ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 9) - A St. Paul apartment fire left 14 residents displaced, and three people injured Saturday morning. What we know According to the St. Paul Fire Department, police and fire crews responded to a two-alarm fire on the 500 block of Rice Street. Flames were showing from the second floor of the three-floor building, authorities said. Police made the initial entry to the building and were able to evacuate seven people from the first floor of the building. Fire officials say they received reports of trapped residents in the building, and they evacuated six to seven more residents from the third floor. The fire was eventually extinguished on the second floor, before it could spread to other floors and units. Two St. Paul police officers and one resident were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Authorities said 14 adults were displaced after the entire building was condemned. The Red Cross and the building management are helping those were displaced. Multiple cats were also displaced after the fire. A child is recovering after a kitchen fire in Montgomery County Tuesday night. Four toddlers die in Mayfair house fire
Johannesburg firefighters found four young children deceased in a Mayfair house on Monday morning. The children, all of whom were under the age of two years, are believed to have died of smoke inhalation, said Johannesburg emergency services spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi. Firefighters were called out at 11am. ' On arrival firefighters found the house well alight. While conducting a search and rescue operation, four bodies of young children ranging from two years and below were recovered. Unfortunately they were confirmed dead on the scene by Gauteng EMS paramedics. 'The cause of the fire is believed to be a heating device which was in use before the fire started,' he said, adding the department's fire investigation team was on site conducting preliminary investigations. Mulaudzi said anyone needing assistance during life-threatening emergencies should call the EMS team's call centre on 011 375 5911. He urged residents to be careful when using heating devices, including cooking devices and heaters, as colder winter weather approaches. Skegness caravan fire deaths of dad and daughter inquest opens
A father and his daughter who died in a fire at a Lincolnshire caravan park were killed by smoke inhalation, an inquest Baker, 48, and daughter Esme Baker, 10, from Retford, Nottinghamshire, died at Golden Beach Holiday Park, in Ingoldmells, near Skegness, on 5 a tribute, their family said last month they had been "excited to be spending the first weekend of the holidays together" .The inquests into their deaths were opened at Lincolnshire Coroner's Court by coroner Paul Smith and adjourned until 5 October. Mr Smith confirmed post-mortem examinations had been carried out on 11 April and the medical cause of both deaths were "inhalation of the products of combustion".Mr Baker had worked as a self-employed plasterer and was originally from Doncaster but had been living in Retford, the coroner an investigation into the blaze, Lincolnshire Police said the fire was "accidental". One person taken to hospital after Friday night fire in Gray
