Strong storms possible Saturday afternoon

We've had dense fog to start the day and a Dense Fog Advisory will expire at 9AM. There is a widespread area of rain and some thunder to our west. This area of rain looks to mainly impact our southern counties through the morning hours. Scattered storms are expected to develop this afternoon and early evening. A few of these storms could be strong to severe with gusty winds the main concern, but an isolated, weak tornado can't be ruled out. Temperatures on Saturday will be in the mid 70s. We will see a break in activity overnight and through much of the day on Sunday. In fact, on Sunday, we could see clouds decrease through the morning allowing for decent sunshine and temperatures to climb into the mid to upper 80s. A weak front will bring another chance of strong to severe storms later on Sunday afternoon and through the evening hours. The threat is highest to the west of the metro. Gusty winds are the main concern again, with a lesser threat of hail and tornadoes. Once this front clears the region we will have a nice break from the active pattern. Dry with sunshine and temperatures in the 80s Monday through much of the work week. Rain chances return late in the week. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Fantastic forecast with plenty of Mother's Day sunshine

Mother's Day: Mostly sunny, high 80 Tonight: Clouds increasing, low 58 Monday: Chance of rain, high 74 (60) Tuesday: Showers & t-storms, high 76 (61) Wednesday: Rain & rumbles, high 79 (62) Thursday: Spotty sprinkles, high 84 (69) Mother's Day Sunday may arguably be the best day in the extended forecast. This should not be a surprise since mothers deserve the best. Skies are going to stay mostly sunny all day long. High temperatures will warm up to 80 degrees. Most of the evening will remain mostly clear, then as the night continues more clouds are slowly going to build up. Overall temperatures will stay mild with morning lows only falling to the mid-upper 50s. Humidity is expected to remain low too so things will be comfortable as well. The next decent chance for rain returns Monday. A few chances for spotty showers start around the late morning, then by the afternoon more widespread rain is going to fall. This starts in the southern counties before moving up northward. Temperatures will be seasonable with highs in the mid 70s. More sustained showers and thunderstorms will be present through the middle of the week. Some of them may lean on the stronger side as well. The end of the work week will not be as wet, but it is going to warm up a bit. Temperatures are expected to reach the mid 80s between Thursday and Friday. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
