A South Auckland high school has been forced to close early due to continued staff absences.
In a
post on social media
, Manurewa High School said the absences, along with "reduced reliever availability", meant it was unable to cover classes and all students would be sent home at 2pm.
Speaking to the
New Zealand Herald
, Principal Pete Jones said the school had been "struggling to manage this for a couple of weeks now".
Students under 14 or who had to wait for the school bus would remain on school grounds.
After school activities however, would continue as usual.
The school has been approached for comment.
