Fredericton Marathon draws thousands of runners for the weekend
The 47th Fredericton Marathon will have nearly 3,000 participants this weekend.
The 47th Fredericton Marathon takes over capital city streets this weekend, with nearly 3,000 participants signed up.
The full marathon begins 7:30 a.m. Sunday, and also serves as a Boston Marathon qualifier.
This weekend also includes a five-km event, a 10-km event, and a half-marathon event.
A five-km race for elite runners will be held for the first time on Saturday.
Motorists are advised of several street closures around Fredericton this weekend, especially around the city's downtown core.
The Westmorland Street Bridge will be reduced to one lane of traffic in both directions on Sunday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
