Sioux Falls street closures start Monday
SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — Road construction projects will temporarily close several streets in Sioux Falls this week. Starting Monday, South Main Avenue will be closed between West 11th and 12th streets. South First Avenue will be closed on the north side of East 41st Street. North Northview Avenue will be closed between West Benson Road and West 54th Street North. North La Mesa Drive will be closed between West Madison and West Third streets. The roundabout will be closed at 85th Street and Parkway Avenue. Most of the closures will last through Monday. South First Avenue and the roundabout will be back open at the end of the week. Sewer work to close two roads in coming days
Work continues on the Kernersville Sewer Rehabilitation project and will lead to two street closures in the comping week. A contractor will close the following streets on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Tuesday, May 27: Branchwood Drive between both intersections with Beaucrest Road. West Mountain Street between Beaucrest Street and Oakhurst Street. Work is expected to be completed by Friday, May 30, weather permitting. The contractor is responsible for all traffic control. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and plan for alternate routes. Halifax's Blue Nose Marathon to close roads, disrupt transit this weekend
The Blue Nose Marathon takes place in Halifax this weekend and the municipality is advising residents to expect street closures, parking impacts and transit disruptions. A full list of street closures is available on the Blue Nose Marathon website, as well as a list of parking bans that will be in effect on Saturday and Sunday. To help reduce traffic, Halifax Transit is offering free bus and ferry services from Friday to Sunday for volunteers with credentials and participants with their race bib. Some bus routes will be detoured during the races, and information on those affected can be found on Halifax's website or by calling 311. The Blue Nose Marathon is expecting thousands of participants and spectators. The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising motorists to drive carefully and allow for extra travel time.
