Hialeah high school teacher arrested after having sexual relationship with student, police say

An English teacher at Hialeah Senior High School was arrested after he and one of his students allegedly had a sexual relationship, according to police. The student reportedly told police her relationship with Misael Gonzalez, 55, began after they spoke about issues she had regarding her father, according to the arrest report. The teen told police she was 15-years-old at the time. According to the teen, their conversations then turned romantic and he fondled her over her clothing on several occasions. "The victim stated how the defendant would tell her they were in a boyfriend and girlfriend (romantic) relationship and how they loved one another," according to the arrest report. Gonzalez allegedly would meet her at her job and then they would go sit in his Tesla in the parking lot, where they would talk and kiss, according to police. The teen told police from September 2024 through February 2025, she and Gonzalez had sexual encounters in his and other classrooms room at the school, according to the arrest report. She added that they would only communicate with each other in person so as not to leave any trace of their conversations on electronic devices, investigators said. Spending "romantic" day together In January, the teen skipped school so they could spend the day at the beach, without her parents knowledge, according to police. The teen allegedly told investigators they parked in garage across from a hotel, checked in, changed and went to the beach. "The victim stated the defendant asked her if "she was ready to have sex", she stated no. The victim stated they spent the rest of the day together being romantic," according to the report. Gonzalez then drove her back, so she could return to the school for dismissal, police said. According to the teen, when she turned 16 in February, she again skipped school, and they spent the day at Emelia Earhart Park. There, the teen said, she had sex for the first time, according to the arrest report. Gonzalez was taken into custody on Tuesday, May 20, at a Miami-Dade Public Schools warehouse. After being questioned by investigators he was arrested. Gonzalez is facing several charges including lewd and lascivious battery, child abuse, molestation and unlawful sexual activity with a minor. During his bond hearing, a detective told the judge there are other victims in other cases. The judge found probable cause and ordered that he be held without bond. Following the arrest, Miami-Dade County Public Schools issued the following statement. "Miami-Dade County Public Schools is disturbed by the unsettling allegations made against this individual. Upon learning about this suspected behavior, Miami-Dade Schools Police immediately began their investigation and subsequently made an arrest. This type of behavior will not be tolerated as it runs contrary to the professional conduct we expect from all employees. The District has initiated employment termination proceedings and will ensure the individual is precluded from seeking future employment with the District."

Female teacher, 27, 'sexually assaulted underage boy in her classroom shortly before cops came to arrest her'

A Florida high school teacher was arrested just moments after she allegedly sexually assaulted a boy in her classroom. Riverview High School teacher Brooke Anderson, 27, was charged with three counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor on Friday. Police launched an investigation after receiving information about an inappropriate relationship between Anderson and a male student that same day, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. The minor student told police that the relationship began in September 2024 with 'sexually explicit text messages.' The relationship allegedly escalated in the weeks leading up to her arrest, and the student reported multiple instances of sexual activity. Police said the most recent incident occurred the morning of her arrest, inside Anderson's classroom before the start of the school day. 'This teacher betrayed the trust of a student, a school, and an entire community,' said Sheriff Chad Chronister. 'What should have been a safe, supportive environment for learning was exploited for abuse. Her actions are criminal, calculated, and deeply disturbing.' Police said she had a sexual encounter with a student inside her classroom at Riverview High School (pictured) on the morning of her arrest Hillsborough County Public Schools told Anderson had taught biology in the district since November 2021. She has been suspended pending termination. The district said she passed all required screenings and background checks before she was hired. Anderson was a science teacher at Riverview High School, but her name was removed from the school's directory shortly after her arrest, according to People. The Riverview High School Clubs roster also lists her as the school's environmental club sponsor. Anderson was booked into jail on Friday and then released on Saturday after a judge set her bail at $45,000 - $15,000 for each count of unlawful sexual activity with a minor. Court records show she has not entered a plea, and it is unclear if she has a lawyer.

Detroit substitute teacher under investigation, accused of assaulting students

The Brief A substitute teacher at a Detroit charter school allegedly got physical with their kids when they wouldn't behave. Detroit police confirmed the case is under investigation. DETROIT (FOX 2) - A substitute teacher at a Detroit charter school is out of a job after parents say they allegedly got physical with their kids when they wouldn't behave. Meanwhile, another mother says another teacher at the same school did the same thing. What they're saying Kenyata Walters says her daughter's 3rd grade homeroom teacher crossed the line at Detroit Edison Public School Academy on the city's east side. "She said she hit me. And I'm like who? Like what happened? And she's like "my teacher. She hit me on my back. And it hurt," she said. "Immediately I went over to the 7th Precinct because it's like maybe three blocks away. We made a report and there, the officer asked me: "hey did you happen to check your daughter for any bruises? I check her for a bruise and sure enough in the lower part of her back there's a bruise, about a fist size in her lower back." Detroit police confirmed the case is under investigation. Dig deeper The alleged incident comes the same day parents learned a substitute teacher was fired for, "acting in ways that did not meet our school's standards" - according to a memo sent out to parents by school administrators. This happened after several parents reported the sub allegedly pushed and shoved their kids - trying to get them to behave. FOX 2 went to an Oakland County home listed by an executive with the organization that runs Detroit Edison Public School Academy. No one wanted to talk. However, officials who are affiliated with the non-profit "New Paradigm For Education," said in the memo that student safety is a top priority, adding that they've fully addressed the situation in accordance with their policies. What's next Kenyata says she's still waiting for the school to take action after what she says happened to her daughter, an ordeal she won't soon forget.
