Couple shares hilarious video of a Benidorm hotel with no free sunbeds one minute after the pool opens
A British couple captured the hilarious moment they discovered every sunbed had been snapped up by sun-worshipping guests in Benidorm only a minute after their hotel pool opened. Mark and Karen had recently enjoyed a relaxing break at the Hotel Ambassador Playa - but were left stunned after noticing all but one broken poolside lounger had been occupied within seconds at 8.30am. Sunbed wars have been raging across Europe over recent years, which sees tourists compete for prime sunbathing spots at hotel pools and on beaches - usually armed with towels and blankets to ' reserve' their place before returning hours later. The peak season practice has spiralled in popular hotspots frequented by Brits, such as Spain and Turkey, with staff at hotels clamping down on 'sunbed hoggers' by hiring bouncers and introducing parking ticket-style systems. Sharing a clip to their TikTok page, @benidormmarkandkaren, Mark and Karen documented their own experience of having to hunt for a prized bed. They said, 'When you get up at 8.31am and the pool opens at 8.30am,' before revealing the view of the pool from their hotel balcony. In front of the camera are hundreds of guests sprawled out on loungers, with seemingly no sunbeds available whatsoever. They then find one sunbed available to lie on - only to discover the reason no one is using it is it's broken. They added: 'Looks like it's 100 per cent chance of no tan today!' Over 400 viewers shared their thoughts in the comments. One sneered: 'I can't understand how people enjoy this as a holiday. Genuinely boggles my mind.' 'That's my idea of hell. That isn't a holiday,' blasted another. Meanwhile, a third person accused Mark and Karen - a British couple who live in the Spanish hotspot - of making a rookie error, adding: 'Why would you get up so late knowing this happens? You can nap on your sunbed!' Another holidaymaker said: 'Looks like where I'm staying in July…. I better get prepared for bed wars!' But there were also plenty of people who had a range of ideas for Mark and Karen to still enjoy their holiday away from the hotel pool. One suggested: 'Go and explore. The towns and villages around Benidorm are gorgeous. Never understood why anyone would want to stay in Benidorm.' More than 400 viewers shared their thoughts in the comments - and there were plenty of people who had a range of ideas for Mark and Karen to still enjoy their holiday away from the hotel pool Someone else pointed out: 'Aren't there miles of beaches in Benidorm?! Why is everyone crowded around a pool?!' But one bright spark had an idea on how everyone can avoid the sunbed wars when they're on holiday. They said: 'Ttake an inflatable lilo with you, you can lie anywhere and move around easily and it's much comfier!

Watch determined tourists wear sprint shoes & even STRETCH before dawn dash for Magaluf pool spot…having queued for 1hr
THIS is the frantic moment Brit "towel warriors" sprint for the best sunbeds around the pool at a Magaluf hotel - the second it opens. Desperate holidaymakers queued by the pool at Hotel Sol Barbados for up to an hour before staff opened it and seemingly let all hell break loose. 5 5 5 It is the latest chapter of the blazing sun lounger wars which continue to rage on across Brit holiday hotspots. Aaron Turner, 34, was holidaying in Spain with fiancé Shauna Wall, 32, and their four-year-old daughter Halle when he spotted the bizarre scenes. The family, from County Meath, Ireland, said sunseekers would wait at one of the three busy pool entrances each day, determined to get the best spots. Aaron claimed he saw tourists starting to queue from 9am - despite the pool opening at 10am. Unbelievable footage showed the racing Brits sprint for their lives as they swarmed the pool area to secure the sunniest seats. Dozens are seen waiting by the entrances, one of which is blocked by just one lone lifeguard. As he lets them in when the clock strikes 10am - scores of swimmers descend on the sunbeds in a mad panic. Content creator Aaron said: "The queues would get pretty long. "Once the barriers opened, all the rules went - people were jumping the queue, and some were properly running." Aaron quipped that he had to don running shoes in order to beat the crowds and secure his seat. Shock moment two Brit women brawl on Tenerife street as leering yobs spur them on sparking local fury on holiday island Despite the chaos, he was seen appearing to have found a well-placed sunbed. He added that there were "definitely enough beds" - but that this didn't stop Brit tourists forming lines to win the best spots. "I thought it was hilarious, I've seen videos of it online before but it was the first time I experienced it myself," he said. "We got a good laugh out of it." 5 5 The footage went viral after another similar scramble involving hasty Brits in Magaluf was caught on camera. A Manchester holidaymaker was left absolutely fuming after vigilantes swiped towels from her sun lounger that she had reserved due to her disability. Wheelchair user Elaine Simpson, 77, had been given permission from staff to book out the spot, before Brit sunbathers intervened. She was staying at the Aquasol Aparthotel near Magaluf with her family to mark her 51st wedding anniversary. Joined by her husband and teenage grandkids for the trip, they were set for a much-needed week's break in the sun. But when they arrived, she was put into a hotel room that was five floors up and as far from the pool as they could have been. Because she suffers from chronic arthritis and is in a wheelchair, this made it a challenge to claim a hotel sunbed at opening time. She told the Sun: "We could never have made it down for 9am to get a sunbed. "So we went out to the beach and paid for sunbeds for the whole week." Another Brit tourist defended the controversial practice of putting towels on sunbeds amid the blazing row. Rachel McGuigan and her husband David enjoyed a plush vacation in Turkey, but divided opinion after they put their towels on their poolside beds for half an hour while they went for their morning meal. She got angry reactions from some holidaymakers.

‘You picked the wrong person!' Watch moment holidaymaker goes nuts as woman sits on sunbed she's ‘been using all week'
AN angry 'Karen' has kicked off the 2025 sunbed wars by going berserk at holidaymakers for taking 'her spot'. The infuriated guest made her feelings known when she gave a pair of unsuspecting sunbathers an earful of abuse. 5 5 5 The woman, wearing a pink cover up, was spotted accusing a couple of being in the spot she had been using 'all week'. Callum Lines heard the commotion while soaking in the sun by the pool. And the 31-year-old onlooker quickly captured the incident on camera. 'The Scottish lady said they had been using those beds all week, accusing the couple lying down of moving their items,' he said. 'Just to the left, out of shot, was a sign stating no reservation of sunbeds. 'I'm not sure this was the case though." He added: 'The Scottish lady left to apparently seek management but they never showed up. 'I've always got two pence to share even when it's probably not required, but you come away for a rest and some relaxation. 'There were plenty more available beds - all with equal sun exposure - so this really wasn't needed.' Callum, from Leamington Spa, even got an earful himself. The woman could be heard saying: 'Don't be cheeky, don't be smart mouthed either. 'You don't know who you're talking to and you don't know who we're here with. 'So just keep your f**king mouth shut.' One woman wearing a black cap and bikini could be seen gesturing to the 'Karen' to walk away. The pair went back and forth as the woman in pink claimed someone had moved their beds. The dispute took place poolside at the three-star Hyde Park Lane apartments in Lanzarote on April 1. 5 5

Let the sunbed wars begin! Moment two furious British women row over poolside lounger with one screaming 'you picked on the wrong person' at three-star Lanzarote hotel
An angry British 'Karen' has kicked off the 2025 sunbed wars by going berserk at fellow UK holidaymakers for taking her spot. The infuriated guest lashed out when she gave a pair of unsuspecting sunbathers an earful of abuse at the three-star Hyde Park Lane apartments in Lanzarote. The woman, wearing a pink cover up, was spotted accusing a couple of being in the lounger spot she had been using 'all week'. Holidaymaker Callum Lines heard the commotion while soaking in the sun by the pool and he quickly captured the shocking row on camera. 'The Scottish lady said they had been using those beds all week, accusing the couple lying down and moving their items,' Lines, 31, said. 'Just to the left, out of shot, was a sign stating no reservation of sunbeds. I'm not sure this was the case though'. The witness, from Leamington Spa, said the Scottish woman then left to hunt down hotel management - but they never showed up. 'I've always got two pence to share even when it's probably not required, but you come away for a rest and some relaxation,' he said. 'There were plenty more available beds - all with equal sun exposure - so this really wasn't needed.' Lines claimed he even got an earful from the furious woman himself. In the video the angry woman claimed she had been there all week and said she now had to relocate. Lines chipped in: 'Excuse me is there somebody underneath you? Are you sat on someone?' The sunbathing woman said: 'Get your facts right before you start accusing people.' But the woman - dubbed a Karen - piped back: 'That's what I said to you,' before the woman on the bed replied: 'Don't be rude, turn around and walk away.' The sunbather's poolside rival said she was not being rude, and Lines told the fuming woman to 'get out her face then'. The bikini clad sunbather continued: 'Turn around and walk away,' but the Karen insisted she, and what appears to be her family or friends, had been sitting in that spot all week. 'They've had to move,' she said, but the woman responded: 'I don't care.' The man laying beside her pipped up and told the woman to 'go away,' and Lines reassured him that the fiasco was being filmed. The Karen then said: 'Sitting here and you say you didn't move and take their stuff away,' but the woman on the sunbed quickly fired back: 'But why ain't they got their names on them then. 'You come over here rude, turn around and walk away. You've picked on the wrong person, turn around and walk away now.' The angry lady told the sunbathers she was going to report them to management before Lines yelled out and called her a 'Karen'. She then turned on him and said: 'Don't be cheeky, don't be smart mouthed either. 'You don't know who you're talking to and you don't know who we're here with. Lines quipped: 'Ronnie Pickering?' But she said: 'Just keep your f******g mouth shut.' One woman wearing a black cap and bikini could be seen gesturing to the 'Karen' to walk away. The pair went back and forth as the woman in pink claimed someone had moved their beds. It comes after holidaymakers in Tenerife were caught using a trick to reserve sunbeds which social media users branded 'pathetic'. In a Tiktok clip, dozens of sun worshippers were seen waiting by the empty pool area at a hotel in Playa de las Américas during the early hours of the morning. The guests appeared to be standing still in designated spots in a bid to 'reserve' a space for one of the sunbeds being unloaded onto the area. One holidaymaker could even be seen reading his book as he stood in position, before swiftly turning his attention to the loungers as the hotel employees began distributing them out. In the comments, over 130 viewers, many of whom appeared to identify as British, rallied together to condemn the 'miserable' move. One person wrote, 'Pathetic really. F*****g grown ups,' while another said, 'This isn't what going on holiday is about... misery.'
