Police investigating after body found following house fire Sunday in Edmonton
Edmonton police are looking for clues in connection with a suspicious death and house fire discovered early Sunday morning. Edmonton Fire Rescue Service firefighters responding to an early morning residential fire in the area of 120 Avenue and 77 Street found a deceased man inside and contacted the northwest division of the Edmonton Police Service at 2:47 a.m. Responding officers determined the death to be suspicious and the EPS homicide unit is investigating. A police 'do not cross' tape crossed the front of a small white frame house with blue trim at 12008 77 St. NW Sunday morning. The upper floor of the home appeared to have been gutted by fire and officers were at the site at 11 a.m. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. 'Anyone with information about this suspicious death, or anyone with security or dash camera footage of the area around 77 Street and 120 Avenue at approximately 1:30 to 2 a.m. on June 1, is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone,' said an EPS news release Sunday. Oldham murder arrest after 'suspicious death' of man
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 50-year-old was found dead at a Manchester Police was called to reports of the suspicious death of a man in Eldon Street, in Oldham, at about 19:50 BST on cause of death had not yet been determined, police said, and his family had been informed and were being supported by specialist officers.A 64-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. Det Insp Andrew Barrett from Oldham CID said: "We are working hard to understand what has happened and get the answers his family deserve."At the moment, the man's cause of death is undetermined, but inquiries are ongoing, and we have made an arrest to progress this investigation forward."Det Insp Barrett urged anyone with information to contact the remain in the area for reassurance and to conduct inquiries, a GMP spokesperson said. A British tourist has been found dead under 'suspicious circumstances' in the bathroom of his Turkish hotel room. The 43-year-old was found lying motionless in his hotel room by staff at the residence in the Konakli area of Alanya on Turkey's south coast. Staff immediately called for emergency services, who declared him dead at the scene. A forensic physician declared his death suspicious, and an investigation was launched. MailOnline has contacted the UK's Foreign Office for comment. It comes just weeks after a British tourist died in a horrific paragliding crash along with his pilot in Turkey. The Briton, 22, and his pilot, 29, leaped from a 6,500ft mountain at the Babadag paragliding spot in Fethiye in a tandem jump. But shortly after take-off their parachute broke and they plunged onto the rocks at the steep mountainside, according to Turkish media reports. Other paragliders in the area alerted emergency services about the crash, with rescuers rushing to the scene only to discover that the British holidaymaker and the experienced pilot had died. Their bodies were taken to a nearby hospital morgue for autopsy. Local authorities have launched an investigation into the accident, with officials examining the crash scene and the paragliding equipment. All paragliding flights from Babadag were temporarily suspended following the incident.

Police investigating suspicious death in Châteauguay, Que.
Quebec provincial police are investigating what they describe as a suspicious death on Montreal's South Shore Wednesday. Around 3 p.m., local police were called to a home on Jules-Dumouchel Street in Châteauguay, Que., located southwest of Montreal. At the scene, officers found a woman who was unresponsive, according to a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). Police later confirmed her death. A person of interest was later intercepted in Saint-Stanislas, Que., about 230 kilometres northeast of Châteauguay. Investigators are expected to meet with the man.

Exmouth couple found dead at home had gunshot wounds
Two people found dead at a property in Devon both suffered gunshot wounds, police have said. Husband and wife, John Perkins, 66, and Kathryn Perkins, 67, were pronounced dead at a property at Briar Close, Exmouth, at 18:30 BST on 7 May. A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said the fatalities were linked and Mrs Perkins' death was being treated as suspicious. They added that two legally held firearms had been located at the property and been seized. Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths, the spokesperson said.A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said a voluntary referral had been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, in accordance with normal practice for matters relating to firearms licensing.
