Both Sides Want EU-UK Summit to Be Success, Says Former Top UK Official
"I think we shouldn't be over-optimistic," says Simon Fraser, former head of the UK foreign office, ahead of the EU-UK summit. "I think we will see some tangible outcomes," he adds, "although the negotiations will run right to the wire." Fraser argues both sides need to "feel they're getting a win," but notes that there is "mutual benefit in showing that Europe is coming together in the face of a rapidly changing world."
