Taylor Swift skips the American Music Awards red carpet
Taylor Swift skips the American Music Awards red carpet
No matter how hard Taylor Swift's fandom clamored online attempting to will the "Tortured Poets" singer into appearing at the American Music Awards (AMAs), she did not walk the purple carpet at the Las Vegas program.
Swift is up for several awards: artist of the year, favorite female pop artist, album of the year, favorite pop album, collaboration of the year and favorite touring artist.
'Reputation (Taylor's Version)' announcement?
On May 23, Swift was spotted with boyfriend Travis Kelce on the other side of the country dining at Harry's Bar & Restaurant in West Palm Beach, Florida. She has been keeping a low profile following the Super Bowl. She missed the iHeartRadio Music Awards in March where she was honored with a lifetime achievement award of "Tour of the Century."
For weeks, fans have anticipated that she may show up to the Las Vegas broadcast to announce the rerecord of her highly anticipated album, "Reputation (Taylor's Version)."
Swiftie influencer accounts compiled lists of "26s," the date of the AMAs. They pointed to the "Reputation" intro video from the Eras Tour where her high heels click 26 times. She debuted the video in March 2023, but fans thought it might hint at an awards show two years later. Tiffany Haddish, the actress Swift featured in a Reputation Stadium Tour video during "Look What You Made Me Do," was a presenter at the AMAs.
"She has 676 posts which equals 26x26," one user also tweeted, pointing to the awards show date.
Maybe the hints of "26" aren't a harbinger toward a day but the year 2026?
The most scrutinized clue though came from the superstar's team when they switched up the shop section on to include four categories: Apparel, Music, Accessories and Sale.

Swift's previous American Music Awards
Swift has taken home 40 awards, holding on to her AMAs crown of the most decorated artist. In 2022, the "Bejeweled" singer thanked her legion of supporters after winning artist of the year.
