Fundraiser launched to support family of Alan Singh (7) who died at Sligo beach

The schoolboy died after getting into difficulty at sea on Saturday A fundraiser has been launched to support the family of Alan Singh who died at Lissadell beach in Sligo over the weekend. The 7-year-old was airlifted to hospital after he got into difficulty at the seaside on Saturday, and later died. His community in Ballisodare are now rallying around his family by raising money to cover expenses and help them through this 'incredibly difficult time.' 'As a community we are deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Alan Singh following a Tragedy at Lissadell,' the GoFundMe page reads. 'Our thoughts are with his parents IqbalJeet (Indie) and Andrea (Dzurikova), his sister Aisha, grandparents, family, friends and all his classmates at St. John's National School, Ballisodare. Alan Singh News in 90 Seconds - May 20th 'Alan's family are well known as they run the local 5 in 1 Pizzeria here in the village. 'All donations will go directly towards covering expenses and helping his family through this incredibly difficult time.' So far, 406 donors have raised €15,465, with a total target of €24,000. The schoolboy's funeral will be held on Thursday at the Church of the Assumption, Collooney at 11am. Burial afterwards in Sligo Cemetery at 12.30 pm. Alan will repose at the Church View Funeral Home Collooney (F91 AH21) on Wednesday afternoon from 4pm to 7pm. Removal will take place on Thursday morning at 10.45am ahead of the funeral. Tributes have poured in from mourners expressing their sadness at the tragedy. 'To the Family of Alan my deepest sympathy on the loss of your beautiful little boy. My heart breaks for you all at this devastating time,' one tribute began. 'May Alan rest now in eternal peace. May he watch over you all and give you the strength and courage you need every day. 'Sleep tight young man.' Another shared: 'There are no words to express the sadness of this tragedy. What a beautiful little boy. 'Please know that you, Alan's family and friends are very much in our thoughts and prayers as you navigate the days ahead without your precious child. May Alan RIP and watch over you all.' A third mourner added: 'To the Singh family, to Alan's classmates and friends. Words are inadequate to convey our deepest sympathy to each of you on your unimaginable loss. 'We are devastated at the tragic loss of your beautiful little boy, brother and grandson. 'Fly high Alan in the arms of the Angels and may every comfort be given to your family and friends at this time.'
