McConaughey played Detective Rustin 'Rust' Cohle alongside Woody Harrelson as Detective Martin 'Marty' Hart in the first season of HBO's True Detective show, which premiered in January 2014. The show earned by McConaughey and Harrelson Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Now, per Deadline, Pizzolatto and McConaughey are reuniting for a new Skydance feature film that will be based on the Mike Hammer book series. The script for the film was written by Pizzolatto, while a director is not yet attached to the project.
