Andrew Porter rallies local teams to ‘join the revolution' in support of grassroots sports
A new nationwide campaign has been set up to support and energise grassroots sports teams across Ireland. Leading high-protein performance brand Grenade is urging sports teams to 'Join the Revolution'. The initiative will see Grenade sponsor 20 local sports teams, providing them with full-branded kits, product hampers and custom team banners. Porter, who is a Grenade brand ambassador, is renowned not only for his formidable presence on the rugby pitch but also for his advocacy for mental health awareness. The 'Join the Revolution' initiative is open to teams of all shapes and sizes, from GAA teams in rural towns to urban fitness groups, rugby clubs, soccer squads, and community gyms, promoting inclusivity, participation, and healthy living at a community level. Irish rugby star Andrew Porter is fronting the campaign. Speaking about the campaign, Andrew Porter said: 'Growing up in Ireland, local sports clubs were everything,' 'They're not just places to train or compete – they're safe spaces, they build friendships, they boost confidence, and they provide incredible mental health benefits. I've seen firsthand how being part of a team can positively shape someone's life.' He added: 'Grenade understands that the journey to physical fitness goes hand-in-hand with mental wellbeing'. There is still time to 'Join the Revolution' with entries open until June 29.

Progress inspected on al-Hasi Water Barrier Project in Mahweet
Mahweet - Saba: Engineer Mukhtar al-Turki, representing the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit in Mahweet province on Monday inspected the ongoing construction of al-Hasi Water Barrier Project in al-Khabt district. The project, with a storage capacity of 22,948 cubic meters and a cost of 156.85 million Y.R, is expected to benefit over 1,800 people. During the inspection, Engineer al-Turki highlighted the Central Interventions Unit's support for such projects as crucial for expanding rural water infrastructure and raising community awareness of its importance for improved living conditions and sustainable development. He stated the visit aligns with directives to review project progress and promote grain cultivation for self-sufficiency, in accordance with the directives of the "Leader of the Revolution" and the Supreme Political Council. Ali Qatina, director of al-Khabt district emphasized that these strategic barrier projects are a long-awaited dream for residents, expected to capture significant seasonal rainwater for agricultural irrigation and recharging groundwater and drinking water wells. He added that the water barriers will help alleviate the water crisis and provide sustainable water sources for villagers and farmers by effectively collecting and utilizing rainwater.
