Sunday brings another round of storms for St. Louis
ST. LOUIS – Guess what? Another round of storms are in the forecast this weekend for the St. Louis region.
Saturday brought various periods of rain across St. Louis and even a tornado warning early Saturday in nearby Jefferson County. On Sunday, we could start with some foggy and cloudy conditions.
Where you'll really need to pay attention is Sunday afternoon into the evening, though timing for the next round of storms remains to be determined.
The next system will likely move out of the northwest toward St. louis early Sunday evening. This will be a line of storms along the leading edge of another cold front. With that, as it first initially gets going, there could be some threats for rain, thunderstorms, hail and damaging winds. Some isolated tornadoes could also be a possibility.
The western half of our viewing area, much of Missouri west of St. Louis and Jefferson counties, is categorized in the Slight Risk (Level 2) for severe weather, while the eastern half, primarily including southern Illinois, is under a Marginal Risk (Level 1).
After this round of storms, calmer and quieter weather takes shape through the first half of the workweek with temperatures in the 80s before the pattern becomes unsettled once again by next weekend.
