Tractor-trailer driver charged after crashing into Hwy 400 median, 3 sent to hospital
A transport truck driver is charged with careless driving after crashing into a guardrail on Highway 400.
An early-morning transport-trailer crash along Highway 400 in Barrie Thursday caused significant traffic disruptions and sent several people to the hospital.
Police say a tractor-trailer headed northbound crashed through the median into a southbound Highway 400 ramp around 6:30 a.m. between Dunlop and Bayfield Streets.
Provincial police say nine vehicles were involved in the collision. Three people were transported to hospital. Police say none of the injuries sustained are considered serious in nature.
OPP confirms the 35-year-old truck driver was charged with careless driving.
The Ministry of Transportation said roughly 60 metres of the median box beam was damaged as a result of the collision.

Highway 400 southbound between Duckworth and Bayfield streets was closed for the investigation and cleanup, but the ramps from Bayfield to southbound and northbound Highway 400 were open.
Shortly before 11 a.m., provincial police confirmed all the ramps along the highway had reopened, but the left lanes in both directions remain closed for guardrail repairs.

Just before 1 p.m., OPP said all Highway 400 lanes had reopened.
