PETALING JAYA : An 11-year-old boy suffered injuries on his head and hand after he was allegedly beaten by his father for making a lukewarm cup of coffee, according to police.
Melaka Tengah police chief Christopher Patit said the child's mother, a tuition teacher, had lodged a police report on the incident at 9.11pm yesterday after returning home on Wednesday night to find the boy's head wrapped in bandage.
'Her husband told her that he had beaten their son for lying to him. The boy sustained injuries to the head and bruises on his left hand,' he said, according to Kosmo.
It is believed that the boy was asked to make his father a cup of coffee, but did not use hot water as instructed. The boy is said to have made excuses when questioned by the dad, prompting the man to throw a chair at the child.
Patit said the mother lodged a police report out of concern for the boy's safety.
