Jesy Nelson shares emotional post 'for our babies'
Jesy Nelson has shared an emotional post as she supports her boyfriend, Zion Foster, from her hospital bed. The pregnant Little Mix singer, 34, has been in hospital since late March after being diagnosed with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), a condition which could put one or both babies at risk. Unable to support her boyfriend on the ground, Jesy took to social media to wish Zion good luck as he takes part in the 2025 London Marathon to raise funds for the Twins Trust charity, which support parents of multiples and improves maternity care and research. 'I feel so emotional this morning knowing my baby is running the marathon for our babies and for @twinstrust. @zionfoster my heart feels so proud of you, you got this my angel,' Jesy wrote as she shared a photo of herself from her hospital bed watching the coverage. Jesy and Zion, 26, have had a rough time of things thus far, as she recently underwent emergency surgery upon discovering her unborn babies were at risk of dying. Earlier this month, after a lengthy social media silence, the Boyz hitmaker posted a video message, confirming all was well and the TTTS had 'cleared up'. In her latest video, Jesy has thanked her followers for their supportive messages, beginning: 'We just wanted to come on here because we are another week further along, and we feel so grateful and blessed that these little babies are still going strong.' Rubbing her stomach as she sat on the bed, she continued: 'We just wanted to thank you so much for all your supportive, beautiful messages. You guys have been so lovely; we've seen all of your lovely messages and stories, and it's really helped us keep going.' 'We're still in here!', she declared, remaining optimistic as she panned around the hospital room. 'Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine. Unfortunately, we can't! Well, we can. I mean, Zion takes me out in the wheelchair down the road, but that's as far as we can go.' Jesy concluded the Instagram Story by promising to keep her loyal fans updated on the 'journey'. On Mother's Day, the Brit Award winner explained with a smile that her operation had been a 'success', expressing her gratitude for 'the most amazing doctors' taking care of her. Jesy then shared that her cervix is 'very, very short', hence why she is still hospitalised because her waters could break 'at any point', despite her being so early on in the pregnancy. 'I can't leave the hospital until I'm a certain amount of weeks, so every week we're just like, 'Please, please, please, stay in there!',' she begged, grabbing her tummy. Monochorionic diamniotic (Mo-Di) twins are twins that share a placenta and therefore a blood supply. Around 20% of all twin pregnancies are mono/di twins. The babies share a placenta (mono) but have their own amniotic sacs (diamniotic). While most mono/di twins are healthy, they have a much higher risk of complications, and so are monitored closely. Twin-twin transfusion syndrome occurs in, according to Healthline, around 15 to 20% of mono/di pregnancies. It happens when blood is not evenly shared between the twins. It can lead to serious illness or death of one or both of the twins. Jesy, who left Little Mix due to mental health struggles in 2020, began dating Zion in 2022 after meeting through mutual friends. More Trending They briefly split but got back together last summer before confirming her pregnancy in January. In a Q&A not long after the announcement, Jesy said she was 'very shocked' to take a positive pregnancy test, as it 'wasn't planned'. However, she felt 'instantly happy' when she made the discovery. Jesy and her boyfriend have been staying in hospital for six weeks after sharing that the twins have Twin-to-Twin Transfusion syndrome, which means they are both feeding from one placenta. Zion revealed that he would be running the marathon for the charity. Taking to Instagram, Zion shared a clip where he showed fans the top he would be wearing for the race. Next to the post, he wrote: "Hey guys, in two days i'll be running the London Marathon for @twinstrust… Training has been a rollercoaster ride but it's all for an amazing cause and i'm ready to cross that finish line. The donation link is in our bios and all money raised will go to the Twins Trust to support them with the amazing work they do for twins, triplets and more!!! Thank you guys so much for all your donations and see you on Sunday." The couple announced that they were expecting twins back in January and have been keeping their fans updated ever since. Jesy is now seven months pregnant but revealed that they have had worries during that the babies wouldn't make it. Speaking about why he wanted to run the London Marathon, Zion said: "I wanted to run specifically for the Twins Trust, because of what Jess has gone through. So with the complications we've had something called TTTS. "Essentially, there's not an equal share of blood flow and nutrients in the body for the twins. So one twin will end up getting too much or one twin will end up getting too little. And I guess when we found out we had twins, you just don't know what comes with it. Everyone just sees, 'Oh my God, you've got twins? That's amazing, congratulations'. But it actually, it can add so many complications. "It can make pregnancy such a difficult time, not just for the mum, but also the father as well. Just because there's so much uncertainty." Twins Trust supports families with educational and financial support for twins and triplets.

They can be identical or different, and two boys, two girls, or a girl and a boy. Twins are quite rare, but are usually born completely healthy What are the different types of twins? Monozygotic – identical twins ('one cell' twins) Dizygotic – also known as 'fraternal', non identical twins. Babies are no more alike than siblings born at separate times, and they can be the same or different sexes Conjoined twins – identical twins that are joined together. They are extremely rare, and it's estimated they range from one in 49,000 to 189,000 births, although around half are stillborn, and one third die within 24 hours. Can identical twins be two different sexes? Identical twins are always of the same sex because they form from the same fertilised egg that contains either female or male chromosomes. The single egg is divided into two separate embryos, and they occur in about three in every 1000 deliveries worldwide. Therefore, boy/girl twins are always fraternal (or dizygotic), as their chromosomes are either XY (male) or XX (female). What are Di Di twins? Di Di stands for Dichronic Diamniotic, and they are the common type of twins. They have their own amniotic sacs and placenta, so are just sharing the womb of the mother, and are therefore not identical. There are few complications with Di Di twins, so have a good chance of being born completely healthy without intervention from your doctor. Di di twins are more likely to be non-identical than identical.
