No charges or arrests in Grand Forks child pedestrian hit-and-run
Apr. 5—GRAND FORKS — Though a person of interest was identified in the March 24 hit-and-run involving a child pedestrian, police say there is insufficient information to arrest or charge anyone at this time.
"We spoke to our person of interest, however (we) did not receive any admission nor had sufficient information to go further," UND Police Chief Rodney Clark said in a Friday morning, April 4, message. "Currently we have no other leads."
The collision occurred
around 8 a.m. Monday, March 24,
near North 39th Street and Sixth Avenue North.
An elementary school-aged child was walking, likely to school, when he was struck by a vehicle police described as a Ram 1500 that was either silver or gray, and from a year between 2008 to 2018.
The child was found bleeding from his head when law enforcement arrived on scene. He was transported by paramedics to Altru Hospital.
Clark at the time said he believed the injuries were non-life threatening, but did not have any other information. The child's condition was not clear as of publication.
