Deep sea fisherman reels in orange crab that 'looks exactly like Donald Trump'
Deep sea fisherman Roman Fedortsov shared a bizarre image of a crab he said looked just like Donald Trump - social media users broke out in hysterics and agreed with this take
A deep sea fisherman has claimed he reeled in a crab that apparently looked just like Donald Trump.
Social media users broke out into hysterics after Roman Fedortsov unveiled his latest bizarre water find online. The fisherman regularly goes viral with his series of strange and otherworldly catches, but his most recent find has drawn attention for its apparent resemblance to the US President. The huge crab was compared to Trump because of its unique "frowning" expression, pursed "lips" and of course a bright orange hue - with fans of the fisherman being quick to liken the crustacean to the controversial politician.
Roman, who works on a trawler in Murmansk in the northwest part of Russia, shared a picture of the shocking find to his 614,000 followers, and captioned the post: "Trump crab."
The fisherman's amused followers appeared to agree with him as one person wrote: "Trump is that you?" Another viewer wrote "lookalike" while another added "for real".
Roman's post gained over 1,100 likes and the fisherman reacted to comments with laughing and thumbs up emojis to share he agreed with people's thoughts on the crab's famous lookalike.
Roman has previously made headlines for his other fascinating deep sea finds, including a video of a creepy "alien"-like fish. Sporting a large, bulbous body, shrunken eyes and gaping mouth, the fish could look like something from another planet - but Roman plucked it from a northern part of the Pacific Ocean, and shared footage of the discovery online.
He identified the beast as an Aptocyclus ventricosus – also known as the smooth lumpfish or smooth lumpsucker. The species of marine ray-finned fish is found in the deep sea and measures up to 44cm.
While their appearance is certainly unique, it appears to have undergone some swelling – likely due to the pressure change in being brought to the surface – resulting in the distended body.
This post also garnered comments from shocked viewers who claimed the creature looked like something from space. One person said: "Yeah, aliens are real." Another viewer agreed: "That is 100% an alien." Another person wrote: "Looks like an alien head."
Some viewers likened the deep sea creature to popular movie characters. One person dubbed it "Megamind" after the cartoon villain played by Will Ferrell, who sports a characteristically large head. Another person likened it to "The Dark Lord" from Harry Potter.
The deep sea fisherman has also made headlines thanks to his other weird and wonderful catches. One was compared to a Dr Seuss character, found with organs hanging out of its mouth.
Meanwhile, he also caught a strange 'dragon'-like fish with yellow eyes. He also previously shared pictures of a rare find: a prehistoric 'goblin' shark.
