New SUPERMAN Character Posters Features Lex Luthor and Other DC Villains — GeekTyrant

As expected, DC Studios has released a new ollection of character posters that put the focus on the villains of James Gunn's Superman . The new posters features Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teshmacher, Anthony Carrigan as Metarmorpho, and Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr. Superman will tell the story of 'Superman's journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. 'He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned. 'It's set in a world very different from ours and far removed from the DCEU. Heroes have been around for ages, and we'll see how it affected this world's history and has shaped the DCU." The movie also stars David Corenswet as Superman, Krypto, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific , and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl. There's also Rachel Brosnahan as Lois, Skyler Gisondo as Clark's best pal, Jimmy Olsen; Wendell Pierce as The Daily Planet's Perry White; and Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl. The movie is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 11, 2025.

We May Be Close To Learning Who Will Play SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY's Villains, but Is a Delay on the Horizon? — GeekTyrant

It sounds like we're getting closer to knowing who the wall-crawler will be facing off against next in Spider-Man: Brand New Day . According to insider Daniel Richtman, offers have officially gone out to actors for both the film's male and female villains. We don't know the names just yet, but if true, this is a clear signal that the casting wheels are finally turning. At the same time, that momentum may be hitting a potential speed bump. Richtman also added that 'there's a good chance [ Spider-Man: Brand New Day ] will get pushed as well.' That might not sound like much, but with production reportedly not starting until this July, and a July 2026 release date still on the calendar, the math is starting to make people nervous, especially when you compare it to the recent shift of Avengers: Doomsday from May to December 2026. Sony and Marvel Studios do have a track record of pulling off these tight turnarounds, and nothing official has changed on the calendar. For now, July 31, 2026 is still locked in, and as of now. That said, Disney CEO Bob Iger reportedly isn't thrilled about Avengers: Doomsday being the only MCU title in 2026, and delaying Spider-Man would mean giving up a big chunk of revenue Marvel typically counts on from the Sony partnership. When Doomsday and Secret Wars were delayed, I thought for sure that Brand New Day would be delayed as well because it's believed that the story is set after the events of Doomsday . As for the new villains in the story. The movie borrows its name from the Brand New Day comic book era, which was a hard reset for Peter Parker after One More Day erased his marriage to Mary Jane and wiped his public identity. That arc introduced a whole new supporting cast and a string of enemies who could easily slot into the MCU—including Mister Negative, Menace, Jackpot, and Carlie Cooper. Earlier this year, a synopsis for the film also surfaced, teasing a more grounded Peter trying to focus on college life—until, of course, that peace is shattered. According to the leak: 'Following the events of Doomsday, Peter Parker is determined to lead a normal life and focus on college, stepping back from his responsibilities as Spider-Man. However, peace is short-lived when a deadly new threat emerges, endangering his friends and forcing Peter to reconsider his promise. 'With stakes higher than ever, Peter reluctantly returns to his Spider-Man identity and finds himself teaming up with an unlikely ally to protect those he loves.' That 'unlikely ally'? The rumor mill says it's none other than The Hulk, which would mark a wild new team-up in the MCU and give fans a Spidey/Banner pairing we haven't seen before. Destin Daniel Cretton ( Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings ) is directing from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker, with Zendaya reprising her role as MJ, and new cast members Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas joining the ensemble. What are you hoping to see from this movie?

SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY's Three Villains Reportedly Revealed, Including Scorpion — GeekTyrant

Some possible new details have surfaced for Spider-Man: Brand New Day , and they came from the floor of a corporate presentation in Las Vegas. According to a post by Instagram user Chris Higashi, Disney may have dropped major reveals about the film during its Blockbuster Consumer Products event. And if what he saw holds true, Spidey is about to face off with a trio of villains fans have been waiting years to see on the big screen. Higashi, who appears to be a legitimate attendee rather than a scoop-hunting fan account, described seeing promo art or a sizzle reel confirming that Brand New Day will feature The Scorpion, Boomerang, and Tombstone. Scorpion is a character longtime fans have been craving ever since Mac Gargan (played by Michael Mando) was briefly introduced in Spider-Man: Homecoming . As for Boomerang and Tombstone, this would mark their first-ever live-action appearance. Tombstone, aka Lonnie Lincoln, is a towering, albino hitman and enforcer with superhuman strength and durability. A longtime enemy of Spider-Man, he's known for his brutal tactics and ties to New York's criminal underworld. Boomerang, aka Fred Myers, is a former baseball pitcher turned high-tech mercenary. Armed with an arsenal of trick boomerangs including explosive and razor-sharp variants. He's got big ambitions and a knack for bad luck. While he's fought Spider-Man plenty of times, Boomerang has also had a redemption arc in recent comics, even becoming Peter Parker's unlikely roommate and reluctant friend. It's worth noting that this event also quietly introduced Disney's new Formula 1 collaboration and confirmed Conan O'Brien's role in Toy Story 5 . So there's precedent for real news coming out of this event before any official press release hits. There was also a promo shown for Avengers: Doomsday and it reportedly featured Alex Ross's Doctor Doom artwork, which makes sense considering Marvel probably isn't ready to unveil Robert Downey Jr. As for Brand New Day , it's may be shaping up to be something more grounded. A classic Peter Parker up-against-the-wall story featuring gangsters, thugs, and high-tech baddies would be a refreshing shift from reality-breaking shenanigans. The film is being directed by Shang-Chi 's Destin Daniel Cretton, with a script from No Way Home writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Tom Holland is back as Peter Parker, alongside Zendaya, Sadie Sink, and Liza Colón-Zayas. Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters July 31, 2026.

Blood Orange

Today, he wrote his holy manifesto He stopped at nine hundred and twenty pages He'll gut and eat those hallowed columned buildings In biting, raving, formulated stages We said, 'but he won't do that Besides, it's just a book.' Today, he swore to plant a Birnam Wood Smugly watch it blooming in its slumber He'll have the witches killed for defamation And Macduff's head atop a spike of lumber We said, 'but that's not how The story's meant to go.' Today, he vowed that he would save the children Segment their minds to binaries and slates He'll spray the saplings down with pesticides Then pick them, toss them into wooden crates We said, 'but they won't buy that They're the future, they can think.' Today, he pledged to squeeze the villains out The crooks, the cons, the convicts, rats and thieves He'll build a wall that's higher than the sun Peel families apart like stalks from leaves We said, 'but he can't do that, It just wouldn't make sense.' Today, he called to fight, to fight, to fight, Blood trickled down his wrinkled orange head He'll live, outlive the charges held against him The juice of justice; bitter, warm and red We said, 'he can't He can't. Can he?' Tomorrow, they will crown him like a king, A supreme leader, starting on day one He'll drink his oil and feast his fill of terror His friends will rule the world and point the gun We lost. It's true. It's sad. But all fruit rots eventually.

I know the REAL reason so many straight middle-aged women are becoming lesbians - and it's far more common than you'd think: JULIE BINDEL

The woman's exasperation was all too apparent. 'I envy lesbians,' she posted. 'They avoid all the crap we have to put up with.' The replies came thick and fast, many in firm agreement. 'I'm seriously considering joining their club,' wrote another. These women are members of a Facebook group dedicated to exposing male 'creeps' and 'villains' – old-fashioned cads and bounders, if you'd rather.
