MP to hold ‘Yoga with Soldiers' at Someshwara Beach
Mangaluru: In celebration of
International Day of Yoga
, a 'Yoga with Soldiers' event will be held at 3pm on June 21 at the scenic Someshwara Beach, one of Dakshina Kannada's renowned tourist spots, said Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta.
Capt Chowta has invited the public to participate in the session. Following the proposal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21 as International Day of Yoga. This year's theme for the 11th International Yoga Day is 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health,' highlighting yoga as a beneficial practice for our health and holistic development, he said.
"To promote tourism in Dakshina Kannada, the 'Yoga with Soldiers' event was organised at various tourist destinations in the district.
Last year, it was successfully held at Sasihithlu, known for adventure water sports. This time, preparations are under way to conduct the yoga session at the historic Someshwara Temple Beach," the MP said.
Someshwara Beach captivates everyone with its majestic allure. Our hope is that this enchanting tourist and religious site will attract even more visitors globally. This is a small effort to introduce our tourist destinations to the world. Capt Chowta has urged local social media influencers, media representatives, and the public to visit, create high-quality content showcasing the beauty of this location, and encourage more tourists to visit.
The 'Yoga with Soldiers' event will also see participation from local achievers, sports personnel, ex-servicemen, lifeguards, social workers, and other dignitaries, with interested individuals encouraged to join, he added.
